Police pokemon? Nah it's more than that. It is based on a mythical creature and used as a pseudo legendary in the anime and pokedex entries. Give it a more flowing mane or turn it white with blue flames or something.

OK so I'm just mentioning this because if megas are to stay for good they need a balance to them, and I bring you, the type-ites, these are general mega stones designed for pokemon without mega forms, giving them a +1 Stat boost in every stat that they keep upon switching out, they would keep the stab of their second type but lose it defensively so your basically stripping resistances OR weaknesses from your pokemon, visually it would have the same mega activation animation however when the meteorite smashes the chunks of it would float around the pokemon in a sort of gravitational field with cored particle effects matching the pokemons type This is basically how I'd balance megas so that way every pokemon atleast gets something

Exactly, all they have to do is to make 50 new mega. Ten-ten each from jhoto, sinnoh, unova, kalos and alola. Galar and paldea is still pretty new. And tbh none of the Pokemon need any mega especially when most of gen8,9 mon are very over designed. Galarian and paldean starters also shouldn't get any mega for the same reason.
