Fun Fact: Did you know? The Periodic Table had to change one of it's elements after Game Freak sued them for the 18th element, as it was actually called Aggron. But the Periodic Table was petty and liked the name and so they only changed a couple letters and called it Argon. I was that Gamefreak employee who started it btw.

Fun fact: the reason why there are two versions of each Pokémon game is because when Junichi Masuda grew up an orphan and he and his ragtag gang of orphan friends would steal and sell peoples pets and became rich. Junichi Masuda started game freak to clean the money and this is the inspiration for team rocket. Giovanni is actually based on Junichi Masuda and the reason why he leaves at the end of red/blue is to start the same game freak in the games.

Did you know, that Hideo Kojima got bullied relently as a kid and fell into a dumpster once, where he found a radioactive talking cat. He told this story to his best friend Satoshi Taijiri, which years later inspired him to design the iconic Pokemon Meowth. He even reference the initial encounter in the Pokemon anime with Team Rocket and their mascot Meowth.

Shigeru Miyamoto decided not to use it because he realized that instead of actually designing a pokemon, he just drew Mario again -The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games are based entirely off of real events -Satoshi Taijiri and Reggie Fils-Amie met in kindergarten, when they were arguing over which was the prettier color: red or green. Decades after this encounter, they decided to settle this debate once and for all by becoming game developers -Once while on a walk in the park, a gamefreak employee saw a baby crawl out of a bush, look him dead in the eyes, and whisper “If you want this to be a world of truth, is that not your ideal? Then, can truth and ideals really coexist? It gives one cause to wonder.” The baby was then immediately snatched up by a hawk. When asked if that baby was the inspiration for the beloved character N Harmonia, the employee was quoted as saying: “I don’t know. Sure. Shit’s wild.”

I have a fact: Game Freak actually encourages people to have feelings for Pokémon and the copypasta was actually leaked from them, thus they hate it when furries are bullied and this is why Penny is the only member of Team Star who isn't based off the game freaks. She's instead based off a Pokémon fan named Ben who is often bullied in the community for being a furry. The idea of being a hacker is because Ben is a Nintendo Switch modder.

There’s actually an interesting story behind the pokemon ever made: Golbat One day a Gamefreak employee was fighting a bat & he punched it in the face so hard that its jaw broke, which gave him the idea to make Golbat According to some sources, the employee was also holding several ice cubes when he punched the bat, which was the inspiration behind the move Ice Punch & why Golbat is weak to it

The phone in GSC is a leftover toned-down version of a scrapped Japan-only feature from when Nintendo had intended to make it so that gameboy colors could connect to wifi signals and place calls in the real world. Originally, you didn't have a list of trainer numbers that would be saved, you were going to have to input real numbers of real people and if you used it to call an automated line, you'd be able to arrange for in-game rematches with trainers. Trainers would still call the player periodically during gameplay, but it was not limited to the ten slots the game gave you. The GBC R&D team decided that the microphone peripherals they could make would be too low quality to actually implement the feature and exposed too many of the limits of the GBC in terms of audio quality, so they removed it in a slapdash manner. A casualty of removal of the dialing feature was the removal of an easter egg fight where you dial 867-5309 and get to fight Officer Jenny from the anime (using her overworld sprite from Pokemon Yellow as well as a new battle sprite). She would have a team of two growlithes and if you won the fight you would be given an egg containing one of the Kanto starters at random.
