​​@@comicalcosmonaut959 basically he's probably referring to the re-dub Netflix did on the English dub of the original anime series when it launched there, some of the dialogues were modified, like this one. In the original dub, it is clearly stated that this character (Tabris/Kaworu) love's shinji, as he's said "I love you" In the re-dub, the dialogue changes to make it look like they're just friends, "no homo" to be more specific. Sorry if my English is a little wrong, I'm a little bad at writing in another language, but i hope it's well explained.

She obtains that power instead which is why the Giant Rei shows up and her influence on the angels is why they start looking like her and she wants to give Shinji control over this power which is why he goes into the head!! it all makes so much more sense

Shinjis Dad wanted to be god and make the decision himself and everything that happened in the show 99.99% went according to his master plan Right up until rei realized shinji was 0.01% more right than gendo to exist and live, because the only thing that made the difference is Gendo just wanted to use mfs to his end, where Shinji cared way more about what ppl thought and strived for some ounce of actual understanding about his position.

@@WNPamasaGG to my interpretation, Shinji wants to kill Asuka because Asuka herself wants to die. Shinji understands that, but in the end he is selfish and makes her come back to life both times. After he tries to revert his mistake, he brings Asuka back even though she technically died in the fight with the bird angels. She was okay with dying because it gave her life purpose and meaning, but Shinji is selfish and wants her alive so he brings her back. And then, once he is laying next to her, he understands that she wants to die so he attempts to strangle her. That's why she doesn't fight back, she wants it. But even after everything, he couldn't bring himself to do it which is why she calls him disgusting. This is my interpretation of it.

That's the correct way of rotating a drill though, the grooves (lines in this shot) are supposed to be pulling dirt up and out of the ground. The goof from the original animation was the lines appearing to move downwards, which would push dirt back into the hole.

I love that this accurately represents the plot in a way that actually clarifies many things, but also that it almost perfectly recreates the tone? Like the evangelion fights are not elegant. Despite being the product of presumably billions of dollars worth of resources, they're essentially just these brutal streetfights. The fact that each evangelion is, in a very real way, the pilot's mother, every time they get injured or maimed, or killed, it feels like watching those things happen to the character's mother. Especially for the last Asuka fight. Traumatic.

I remember the only time he was an effective pilot was when he wasn't conscious. It always just seemed like it was a teenage angst. But FLCL did a much better job of expressing that.

But he performs (considering circumstances) as capable as one could untrained against Sachiel, well against Shamshel, adequate against Ramiel, assists on Gaghiel, does fine with Israphel, Matarael and Sahaqiel. Leliel was arguably his biggest fail, but nobody else did better tbh. Bardiel he got terrible guidance, and on Zeruel he performed beyond what one could expect, only stopped by the power running out. Sandalphon and Ireul he was not involved, Arael he had to sit out, Armisael was blown up by Rei first, and Tabris sorta killed himself. Obviously berserk was vastly more capable: the series is quite clear that that's the real EVA. The mecha is merely a way of operating its body remotely, with heavy restraints.
