Skyrim had some uninspired radiant quests, but what I really wish for in the next Elder Scrolls game is radiant Daedric quests. Give us the option to interact with our Daedric lord at their shrine, or in their realm once we become their champion. Give our character the option to become truly part of a daedric cult.

a theory i read stated that the onnes tortured in the hollow were those that in the moment of their death either turned or doubted Dagon, they were punished. However the others we see runing in the gardens and being chased and killed constantly but allways revive are actually in the process of transformation into daedra. the first thing the garden intends is to take away the fear of death from the mortal, prepare them for immortality and battle harden them. over time they would no longer fear death and eventually join Mehrunes armies, essentially becoming like the dremora. this then also ties in again with Mankar preaching about shedding their mortality.

Hey, for your next part of your Alternate History Series it would be cool if you tried making a version where instead of the Falmer attacking the Atmorans in Saarthal they instead sort of joined forces and it would be cool to see how that would effect everyone especially with the Snow Elves sort of having more mages and the Atmorans using the Thu’um in battles. Although this probably wouldn’t really work it would be cool to see how it would play out.

when doing the dagon shrine quest in oblivion, i dropped all my belongings on the floor before agreeing to give all my stuff to harrow, which allows the player to join the mythic dawn faction as an initiate. after doing that, i left the shrine immediately because if you progress to the part of the quest where you kill that argonian, you are trapped in the shrine until you steal the mysterium xarxes and are subsequently kicked outta the faction. since im now in the mythic dawn faction, when fighting people my guy says the same stuff mythic dawn agents say in combat like 'i do not fear death' and all those classics. im just gonna keep the character as a mythic dawn cultist roleplay playthrough where i ditch the main quest.

You guys give me so many new ideas for my own headcanon regarding the history of Mundus. So, what if Lyg was the Magna Ge attempt at building a realm like Nirn? Mehrunes Dagon might have been a mortal intended to bring about revolution for his people in the same way that Alessia did for humans. The Magna Ge would have provided him tools and knowledge and ambitions with which to overcome his oppressors. Afterward, those ambitions and motivations would lead him to use his knowledge to create the razor and fashion himself the power to break that realm’s bonds or gain control over it and turn it into his Deadlands.
@vittxrio5198
@vittxrio5198 3 жыл бұрын
This is very interesting theory. Pretty sure the Magna Ge has reasons on why would they want the Dreugh's empire to fall down. Magna Ge was expecting Mehrunes to bring change to the adjacent place only to be betrayed by their creations by saying "Nope you all and the big guys who call themselves Gods are evil and tyrants" which he then proceeds on turning Lyg into Badlands. What makes this theory plausible is the fact Mankar stating about Lyg and Tamriel are identical. After all, Lyg is an adjacent place of Tamriel. Mehrunes then proceeds on stating that Tamriel was "his" realm or part of his realm. This could imply that His ownership to his Oblivion plane called the Badlands is actually called Lyg in previous Kalpa. Explains his thirst to claim Tamriel so badly (by doing countless invasions in TES Battlespire, TES4, and ESO). Interestingly his character is so chaotic he would give people hope and ambition, and once they are in that podium and position this guy Mehrunes would hire someone to start a coup or invade them himself. And everything goes to circle like a well oiled machine.

Going into this nuanced take on Mehrunes Dagon is fun, that he's the Daedric Prince of ambition, revolution, change and toppling those in power. But the thing is, he's not into revolution in the sense of saving and protecting the weak from those in power. He's the Prince of Ambition for ambition's sake. Aside from the Mythic Dawn, there is no romantic sentiment of rebirth whatsoever. He and his realm are a constant turning wheel of fire and death. 🔥👹🔥

On Dagon possibly becoming another Prince of Conquest/Domination if he wins: It's like when I play Mario Kart with a lot of people. I don't care about winning, I drive backwards just to take down whoever happens to be in first. Also, now that I'm thinking about it... I guess part of his sphere would almost always be an inevitable loss. Think of Oblivion: by causing a revolution, he causes the people to have hope in fighting against himself. Once the Hero of Kvatch starts on their journey, they gather more strength and give more assistance to the people the people of Cyrodiil become more hopeful, feeding back into Dagon's sphere.

Speaking of which, would have loved a look at Dagon's origin story from the Aldudagga; it may not be canon, but its still my fav origin for him. It makes his focus on destruction tragic and metaphysically mind boggling, since technically he would be destroying only that which he and Lorkahn stole from previous kalpas. So cool...

So if Mehrunes Dagon is the next antagonist for the eso next chapter the plot may be this - In the Second Era, an Argonian named Trouble-Finder reported coming across a cheap dagger for sale in Ebonheart. It is unknown whether this was actually the Razor, but several cultists believed it was and chased him down for it.[2] Circa 2E 582, Mehrunes' Razor had been shattered into several shards.[3] It was also seen at that time in the possession of a Bosmer woman named Gilraen, a native of Whisper Grove. The city was sacked by a servant of Dagon, Razor Master Erthas, who opened an Oblivion Gate within the city. Seeking to protect her family, Gilraen entered the Deadlands and made a pact with Dagon; she would remain in the realm as a Razor Master, and Whisper Grove would be protected from the Daedra in return. This pact allowed Gilraen to survive indefinitely in the Deadlands, where she visited her wrath upon the region known as the Knives of Discord. However, her husband Fingaenion reopened the Oblivion Gate in a failed attempt to find and rescue her. In doing so and subsequently being menaced by Daedra, he unknowingly broke the pact. After taking the Sigil Stone and sealing the Gate permanently, Gilraen was free to return home to Tamriel, still in possession of Mehrunes' Razor. from the Mehrunes' Razor lore from uesp.

11:36. Just had a thought. Dagon and the oblivion crisis was successful in bringing the dawn era back. The thalmor and the tower plot that is mentioned in Skyrim. They seek to return to aetherius. That is allowing The Mundus to revolve and reset to the beginning!!!! Tearing down reality and reset the Mundus to before Nirn was created. So in a sense Dagon's plan worked. Also. A side not when the world actually does end and resets when Alduin does return. Dagon will be on his side. As it will be time to reset the Mundus. And begin a new cycle this the Calpa has completed its revolution!!!!! But of course he is only the beginning this chain of events.

One important aspect of Dagon being a harbinger of change and in a sense more on the evil side rather than neutral is that change is antithetical to peace. So he isn't just against the powerful or ruling class in terms of revolution, but also against peaceful harmony even if there in theory could be a completely democratic utopia with no one person was necessarily more powerful than another.

That's honestly what I love about ESO. Molag Bal attempting to take over one week, then some shit in Vvardenfel, Dragons, shit in West Skyrim, stuff in Summerset. Imagine living during that time in Tamriel, you're just fucked

A little sad that you guys didn't mention any of the Seven Fights of the Aldudagga, i know it's Kirkbride out of game stuff and just another convoluted origin story for Dagon, but it's still pretty cool and it kind of answers the "who would win Alduin vs Dagon" question

So for the Podcasts I would prefer more of the metaphysical discussions. The lore videos you make tell me about the overall knowledge and obscure knowledge regarding these topics. I would like to hear more of your thoughts and theories with the Podcasts. Speaking of the Podcasts, please make one about the Battlespire now that you mentioned it in this one. I actually never played it. I would also love a lore video on Jagar Tharn.

Can you please do a video on what happened to Jyggalag after the Hero of Kvatch took over as Sheogorath? I'm am sort of curious and thought maybe he could return as a threat somehow.

@@hollandmayberry1927 this is interesting yes please. Makes me wonder why Bethesda haven't touch Jyggalag after the events in Oblivion's Shivering Isles. Wasn't technically the Hero of Kvatch break the curse by taking the mantle thus releasing the true Jygallag? And even if they destroyed him in the process he would still be there as he was a Deadra not a mortal. Not to mention, Jyg is the feared Deadra as he was immensely powerful in his peak (weakest during the events of Grey March as it was meant to be a reoccurring mockery and curse of his former glory). It would be a waste if they just left us hanging with his lore

Mehrunes Dagon is one of my least favorite Daedric Princes. My favorite is Azura, then Sheogorath, then Sanguine, then Hircine, then Molag Bal, then Meridia, then Malocath, then Hermeus Mora, then Sithis, then Clavicus Vile, then Peryite, after those ones then Mehrunes Dagon, then Jyggalag, then the rest. The very worst are: Nocturnal, Namira, Boethiah, Mephala, Vaermina!!! Also with ES6 and the Thalmor if you do call upon some Daedra to defeat them I would call on Molag Bal, Hircine, and Sheogorath. Though if included the Dragonborn; imagine your character leads a mixed army of whatever side in Civil War you chose, Seekers from Hermeus Mora's realm, either the Dawnguard or Valkihar Vampires depending on which side you chose, Paarthunaax as General of Dragon Army, Werewolves or the Companions(depending on if cured the companions or not), the College of Winterhold, and the Redguards to Summerset Isle. Your massive army destroys the Thalmor, frees the Khajit, frees the Bosmer, and helps the Dunmer.
