Brann's the only one in Mastodon who doesn't look like he's aged 30 years lmao. Troy turned into a greying wizard, Bill turned into an 1800's Pinkerton agent, Brent looks like an alcoholic uncle, but Brann still looks 30 lol

I appreciate how sparingly Brann uses double bass. Some metal drummers just ride it all day and it gets so boring. When he does it, it really stands out.

The Lord of Entropy bill is extremely important, he writes a bunch of the riffs, dude is a riff machine while brent is the more technical dude who does more shredding. So ya bill is super important to the band, great player and a fantastic riff writer. He was the driving force behind their last album EOS, he did alot of really great stuff on that album

My buddies and I met Brann after a show (in Minneapolis on their Primus tour) and he was the nicest dude, totally made our night as we are all huge fan of Mastodon.

all the guys in mastodon (with the exception of brent probably) are just so nice and fun people. they're one of the only bands I'd consider meeting and greeting with because they are just renowned for being nice. other bands can show up to a meet and greet and lose fans because of how mean or grumpy the members are (the who, pink floyd, gnr), it kinda ruins the magic, but mastodon doesn't disappoint.

My girl is a drummer and she once tried to teach me how to play the thing, as I'm a big fan of the drummers. I was doing fine with just my hands, but the moment I tried using my feet as well I completely messed up and lost the plot. It's amazing how people can make these kinda stuff with those levels of precision. It's just insane.

I met him at a show in Portland. He was in the audience watching baroness and he was standing right next to my friend and I. I told him he was a drum God. He was super appreciative and he hung out there until shortly before their set. Super cool dude.

He is such a genuine human. Saw mastodon and gojira in Denver a couple nights ago. After thier set he came to the mic and thanked all of the crew and stagehands for the hard work and tossed all his sticks in the crowd

I remember seeing Mastodon live once and they played all of crack the skye and it was so incredibly loud and powerful, it was at that show that I knew what it meant to be truly face-melted

Oh, but they do. I think it's one of the songs they play on a regular basis from its respective album, Crack in the Skye. Brann Dailor is one of my favorite drummers in all of metal ^^ If you liked it, I strongly recommend listening to the entire Crack in the Skye album. It's my absolute favorite of theirs, and Brann just crushes it beginning to end. =)

same man! Really bug me when people say hes a one trick pony. Hes so much more! Hes one of the biggest creative forces in Mastodon. He writes tons of the lyrics, he comes up with album concepts, he does all the percussion with the little shakers and triangles etc and hes a killer drummer! Hes is a rare talent!

I had the honor and privilege of casually chatting with Brann at my friend's house in Memphis, where the band crashed that night. I asked him to show me the drum line from "Honor" by Today Is The Day, and later they played a CD (or tape) of their new music... March Of The Fire Ants. Also learned he was in an Elvis Costello cover band. I have no regerts.

One of my top favorite drummers.he adds so much depth to each song its like a basic beat and full-on drum fill from beginning to end. It seems so improvised like there is no way you could ever play their songs the same way each time

Brann Dailor is like the Mitch Mitchell of metal. Very busy playing, but always with a clear beat and groove, i.e. the busyness never gets in the way of the songs, but elevates it. Awesome shit ❤

ive been listening to a lot of complex drummers and simple ones trough this last few years from bands like tesseract or periphery to rush messhugga yes and more classicla jazz and fussion and i found that brann dailor is nearly one of the ultimate drummers (meaning that is one of the most complete drummeres that ever existed) he is simply perfect at the lvl of thomas haake gavin harrison, pat mastelotto and others. if i have to say who descrbies better my way of play drums i had to say brann dailor is the one bcs he does everything he is complex and simple at the same time

I don't care for meinl cymbals but this guy is a tremendous player. His set looks sick and sounds great. Oh wait this was about the cymbals? They sounded pretty good.

One of the if not the hardest working hardrock drummer. I cant compare him to someone like george kolias but thats diff genre . This guy is insanely talented

These drum cams are an incredible gift. I don't have a drum set yet but have been wanting to learn branns style for years, especially since I got a drumstick he played with from the first concert I was able to go to from Mastodon
