I love the way these turned out. I think a white swirl would detract from the beauty, but that's my personal opinion. May I suggest you get/build a mitre box? I had one that could double as a small loaf mold, but it made cutting a lot easier to get straight. Unfortunately I loaned it to my sister in law and didn't get it back.

Hi Dean! I would suggest adding just a thin layer of white goats milk in between each wave. Not exactly a swirl but just a little more contrast? :)
@kitzcat4 жыл бұрын
Myssah Lee - I thought that very thing myself. It would emphasize the sections.
@DeanWilson4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I had thought of that at the end of the video but if I added the white layer I would have to make it the same temp as the color layer so I could use my finger to make the wave. very complex it would seem.
@MyssahLee4 жыл бұрын
@@DeanWilson Hmmm...good point. What if we brush or drizzle it on? Or maybe place say, a quarter inch of white soap on the short ends of the mold and tilt the mold so the white soap barely covers? Just some ideas but I think I want to experiment. I have a silicone loaf mold and about 4 pounds of aloe and olive clear soap and some three butter. As soon as I get done filming my art videos, I'll do some soap ones.

Dean Wilson we can have gathering but social distancing. 3 people at a time. Wedding and funeral are 3 people only. They are getting harsh in qld cause people are having parties and stuff and that’s a $13000 fine. Parks are closed but I haven’t heard beaches are. I believe they are but social distancing is being inforced bad there by police. Can’t go into nsw but apparently they is a section near Gold Coast where it’s open and people are... but if we do full lockdown and closes business aka state of emergency only stores like woollies and doctors and gas station and such will be opening. My work will stay open. We are not in public area. We are in a wearhouse and only 3 people work. No contact with public only Australia post 1 time a day. All of our order are done online. So we’re not essential but because we are isolated and no contact with public only via phone and online and 3 people there at max business can remain open.... feeeeeeewie

I like the colors in this one. I bet if you did the bubble technique that you did in the other video, that would look cool, too. I have a question about the color in general - so today I finally tried to make my first melt and pour soaps. I saw another video where you mixed the liquid color with some rubbing alcohol in a little cup. I tried to do that, but it literally looked like oil and water when I put the two together. I ended up just adding the color directly to the soap without pre-mixing it. Any idea why the liquid color and the rubbing alcohol would behave like that? Thanks for your help! I fear my first soap literally looks like Dial. LMAO. It's OK, though. Gotta start somewhere :)
@DeanWilson4 жыл бұрын
Yes, bubbles in this dedign might be nice but only on the top otherwise the layers might come apart. You don't need to mix liquid color with rubbing alcohol. Only mica with rubbing alcohol. Liquid dye goes directly into the soap base.
