Excellent and informative video, thanks! Just clicked on thumbs up! I have a copy of Herbert Benson's book "Relaxation Response." Anyhow, as a retired MD Internist, I learned years ago that when we GET STRESSED, our hands and feet are prone to get cold. It is an autonomic sympathetic nervous system overactivity. People say, "Cold hands, warm heart." To which I say, "Cold hands, STRESSED heart!" So it is clear as daylight to me that we need to tone down our sympathetic overactivity that is triggered by stress. The phrase "cold feet" (afraid of something) has the same origins. So when my feet are cold, which happens often, I sit back or lie back and do gentle belly breathing and after a little bit I can feel my feet warming up. But I won't lie: I'm far from perfect in this practice and it needs a lot of improvement. But hey, Tibetans monks train for years before they get good at Tummo!!! I need to go find a monk and learn! And oh, it is pronounced Dummo even though it is spelt as Tummo. It's the same with the word Tao, which is pronounced Dao. The D is pronounced as in the word 'though' and not as in 'dime.' Doom-mo.

Buddhist students are taught that the body is an illusion. We also meditate for many minutes, even hours without blinking or experiencing eye irritation. This is for the goal of being Aware and Awakened at all moments.

Being able to harness the sympathetic system response which until very recently it was thought it was not possible to do it at will and voluntarily is one hell of display of mind control. Hats off

just do the Wim Hof breathing technique - he got it from tummo yoga.

No Wim Hof is inspired from Tummo but it's more aggresive. Go to Ladakh or Bhutan, Nepal. You will find many lamas. They will teach you. It's called six yoga of Niropa.

Tummo is practice of the six yogas of naropa. He was an Indian master who taught it to a Tibetan who brought into Tibetan Buddhism, especially the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. It’s considered advanced practice. There are many westerners portraying to be masters of this but they’re most likely frauds.
