The asparagus picture and the "eat banana and sit outside" advice both make a lot of sense if the person on the receiving end is feeling down in the dumps. If someone's going through issues, but isn't ready to talk yet, visual reminders that it is NOT the end of the world, food in your stomach, and sunlight on your skin all help lift your mood.

The Grubhub driver one reminds me of the few times when I've gotten lectured for using the word "dude." Apparently it's misgendering some people, even though most of the time I'm not actually referring to a person, but using it in place of "wow" or "oh my God" or whatever. I'm from California. It's how I talk.

@@misssmisssymaria I prefer dogs over humans. I volunteer at a local shelter to cuddle the dogs and cats. Got a few adopted, when the shelter posted photos of how genuinely happy the animals are when getting pets or walks or someone to play with.

Almost every time I have heard a person use the word "dude" in it's present context, which is really often, it makes me smile & think about how we used to intend it's use. I'm 77, and it used to mean someone who was kind of a pretentious, sissified, stuckup sort. Especially as a city dweller new to the country life. As for "bruh" - well that's just downright tiresome.....now, don't get mad at me - someday if you're lucky to live a long life, you will also be hearing some new terms from younger generations. And you will be welcome to your own opinions about them!

I'm only young at 19 and there's already new terms out there that I have my opinions on. Millennials like my older brother make me feel too young to converse with the real adults, whereas Gen Z kids make me feel like i'm out of touch, I don't understand their sense of humour or terminology. I didn't know that about the word dude by the way, you just taught me a new fact. Learn something new every day. I would never have imagined it being used in that way, because i've mostly only seen it used in a friendly manner by my best mate.

I'd rather have someone message me that, look up how lobsters communicate than most of the other messages which seem rude, inconsiderate, or enjoying humiliating and embarrassing another person. Unless the prelude to the message: 'Google how lobsters communicate.' was in response to someone crying uncontrollably about their sunburn and asking to be consoled. In that case they probably wouldn't have to worry any further about the mating reasoning ever being the instigation of the communication between the two.🤷‍♀️ I also realize lobsters aren't red until after they are boiled and at that point they wouldn't communicate effectively anyway with anyone cause they would be dead cracked open and dipped in butter. I'm thinking about how we have ended up at this from scrawling or chiseling events on cave walls, sending smoke signals, letters that used to take months to get to their destinations if they made it at all, carrier avians with messages (as I often wonder if carrier falcons get upset at being called carrier pigeons or vice versa considering pigeons may think Falcons are the real jerks of the skies, either way, just like people get upset easily over equally stupid things but since I'm emotionally marred enough to be probably too sensitive to that, then why am I realizing that the people who may have written these messages, if they are real in the first place, are probably not quite as scarred by the politically correct stuff humanity has implemented lately so applying it to other species might be something that's either incredibly dumb, or so forward thinking I will be exhalted by aliens from different planets thousands of years in the future, 🤷‍♀️ thus trying to not be a jerk universally in an effort to benefit humanity as a whole, but then you see this kinda stuff and you wonder why you are worried about any of it again, so there's that, anyway) telegraphs, telephones, morse code, and even the old messaging where you had to tap numbers 3-4 times to get the right letter to spell the words you were wanting to send and only having had one emoji, to having way more than I've ever seen anyone actually use which kinda brings us back to logopictograms which were a thing of the past when not everyone could read and write even to know what kind of stores they are walking by, and now we just consider them cool or quirky or a code for something else when you are being advised to go eat a banana 🍌 and wondering if you really do need potassium and vitamin D by sitting on a sunny porch afterwards, or if you were just told to eat something else, or just work on your codependency issues by eating something banana shaped and doing so and fighting the need or want to cuddle or communicate further afterwards, instead opting for leaving to go sit on the porch, or go away basically or maybe PO is short for Parole Officer, Petty Officer, a panda possibly 🐼 or fuzzy fetish thing that maybe knows Kung Fu and how to make a decent bowl of noodles, Post Office, P*ssed Off, ect. Then RCH is like initials or something, and then if you aren't confused enough, give it a minute and then communicating effectively will be a class distinction by the time you think you might understand or finally misunderstand the thing or subject to scrutinize it ineffectively enough to screw other people up, yet again. At that point the whole tower of babbel story gains a degree of signifigance or application to a greater or lesser extent, despite speaking the same language true understanding without misunderstanding and getting upset and possibly cancelled only gets worse. And people will wonder why they are being ignored, when they aren't being ignored, they just tried to communicate with someone who doesn't want to be misunderstood or is busy misunderstanding the Acronyms, emoticons, and actual meanings of the words they just sent in their message to the point, "what languages are you fluent in?", can be a resounding 'none' for everyone cause everyone is clueless and communicating ineffectively on levels even brilliant artists are like, "[Bruh, Dude, To Whom it May Concern, (insert other personal pronoun or random exclamation here)], [insert personal pronoun feminine, neutral, or masculine refering to the speaker, (ex: I.)] [cease to compete, give up, can no longer cognitively compete on so many levels of consciousness and communicative evolutions, devolutions, artistic and cognitive representational expression comprehensively, nor communicatively, enough to even express basic needs and thanks for the disposition of those requirements necessary for my prolonged life to continue to exist, at greater or lesser levels of being, so I will grunt and nod since facial expressions no longer mean what they mean either, since actors and social media have clearly made them something which no longer genuinely can be utilized to represent 'feels'( 'feelings' once upon a time, but if you are referring to emotions then that's a 15 c.
