Apparently there's a, 'heart attack gender gap': 30 September 2019 - Julia Bakker Stark inequalities in awareness, diagnosis and treatment of heart attacks are leading to women needlessly dying every day in the UK, according to a new briefing we've released today. The briefing includes BHF-funded research that estimates that more than 8,200 women in England and Wales died over a ten-year period because they did not receive equal treatment to men. The BHF says more lives are at risk as research shows women delay seeking help when they experience heart attack symptoms. The charity wants to put an end to the perception that heart attack is a male disease, and is encouraging women to better understand their risk of a heart attack and its symptoms. It also says further research is needed to close the heart attack gender gap and will be convening policy makers and healthcare professionals next year about how to address the issues. Basically it's just more bs.

Most US states have a Good Samaritan Law. But here's the problem. Oklahoma's Good Samaritan Act MAY apply when someone provides reasonable and necessary medical treatment to an injured person in an emergency. Under this act, someone providing care in “good faith” generally can't be liable for harm resulting from the emergency care they offer.

Do nothing : you keep living your life Give CPR : risk assault/battery charges, sexual assault charges, being forced to pay medical bills for broken ribs, etc. (And yes, ribs should be cracking/breaking. "If your elbows are bending their life is ending", CPR means you lock your arms straight out and literally deform their entire chest inwards with your body weight to make their heart/lungs work. You are literally making tiny 'leaps' with your upper body and landing on their chest with your arms. You're also supposed to remove clothing and such before hand as well because, yes, even thin fabrics from clothes can cushion your landing enough to cause issues.)

No fuck that "suck it up" shit. If they are going to ruin your life or there's a high chance of it, then it's better them than you. If you're responsible for more than yourself, then it's irresponsible choosing some stranger's life over your own family for instance. If you're taken away from your family however or for whatever reason, you're risking their safety and wellbeing as well for not being there for them. Same with saving a lone woman from a group of rapists. You think about your own first, not some stranger.
