Hi Mark I'm sure you will be pleased with the Berghaus boots I have a similar pair I have had for years and have performed well on two of my wettest thruhikes of the West Highland way and the cumbria Way I know I now use trail runners but I still have the boots and they still have plenty of life in them. 👌 have a great hike atb daz

Alright there Darren. For sure mate there is room for these traditional leathers. In winter and in the bogs when it is cold I don't think trail will cut it. Good to hear you have a similar pair and they've done well. That's encouraging. All the best out there bro. Mark

I’ve had the material GORE-TEX boots which are ok for summer but the winter months no good, I use the Brasher Leather goretex boot which is very similar to those. I use the leder gris to keep them supple and weatherproof. And they work well in these wet conditions like we’re having . Atb Dave

Glad you got your replacement boots Mark bro ! I've heard that Berghaus are excellent !! I always prefer leather boots to the more modern fabrics that so often split and fail ! Get some dubbin on those leather boots and they will work a treat in wet conditions !! Hope you have a superb weekend my friend !

I have two pairs of these (the brasher version) and the 1st pair have only lasted 10years and hundreds of hikes. 😂 Just started with the spare pair I bought when they were on offer for £60 (a fair few years ago mind) my go to walking boot now. So comfy too, if my blasted plantar fascia would go way then I could resume some hill walking this year. Anyway, long time no see mark. I fell away from your channel for some reason so I am now going to sub again. I don't remember unsubbing. Hopefully I will return to Haybluff this year and walk to the Black Hill and back. Interesting Mark - Sue has a pair of these and they’ve been brilliant. Very comfortable and have been hard wearing. We walked through the flooded and boggy heath in the New Forest yesterday and she kept totally dry. We’ve done about 25 miles in the last three days so that was good. I have some Mammut and they’ve been very good too Interested to find out how you get on mate. 👍👍

Hi Mark. They look like they will be up to Scratch mate. Berghaus tend to have a good reputation. Get some waterproofing treatment on them for added protection, it will pay dividends. I have a pair of Meindl which are so comfortable, with a hard wearing sole, they have a very similar lacing system to the ones you have just bought. Be interesting to hear your thoughts on them pal. Hi Mark the ones that failed were Rush TRK - I’ll do a follow review on them. The original were the same full leather GTX that I think you also have - but they are too heavy for multi day hikes but they never failed in 5 years; hence why I went back to Scarpa. Could do with a good comfy and water proof pair of boots myself,.I get problems with my feet and arthritis in my toes. Especially with the wet ground . Never been able to find the right ones. Alright steve. Sounds like your feet have been seeking out a good pair for a while. Tested these in the Beacons yesterday in the wet and bog. They were comfy out the box and dry. They have one stich line so few chances of a leak. They're good. All the best. Mark
