I would like to hear more about options for women in their 60’s and 70’s.

I’ve been on HRT for several years with tweaks and additions over time and still don’t feel like I’m quite there. I think my mental health has suffered the most, especially since a complete hysterectomy in January 2020 due to stage 1A endometrial cancer. I’m easily upset and quick to anger and have not yet had an ‘I feel much better moment’. I’m small framed and not overweight, and have never been, but my breasts grew in size from a C cup to an F cup and over the last month or so they have become sore, heavier, almost swollen and the nipples are very sensitive (not in a good way) and erect a lot of the time. It all feels like PMS that just won’t go away.

The breasts are normal. You need to increase estrogen to level out the huge progesterone you are on that causes these moods- as progesterone turn into cortisol and then you are in fight and flight

@ doesn’t seem normal to me. Once I lowered the estradiol the breast soreness went away
@Katepwe20 күн бұрын
@ what makes you say that when I didn’t say if I was taking progesterone or not.
@VanessaRaphael20 күн бұрын
@@Katepwegood question! It sounded like a progesterone overload situation but taken your hysterectomy you might not use progesterone. Then you might actually want to use progesterone to calm your nervous system down. See these work in symbiosis and communicate via the receptors they bind to but they need to also be in balance to make the receptors tuned to each other. I had a situation like that myself where I was on estrogen longer than day 14 and didn’t add progesterone for a week and started to feel similar myself. I added in progesterone and it went away. So yes it can absolutely be the lack of progesterone that gives the same symptoms.

@ it will come with estrogen and when you up the doses over time it will subside.

Thank you so much for this! I am post menopausal. I've been on HRT since March. Currently on 200 mg Progesterone and .1 patch. My mood felt so great on .5 but the nights sweats came back and continued on the .75. I've been on .1 for about 1.5 months now and I'm not feeling great mentally and I'm still having mild night sweats. The progestereone has been awesome for sleep. Any thoughts would be helpful.

I have genetic heart disease and was told by my cardiologist that hrt is not an option. I feel like there’s new research out that disputes this? Any thoughts?
@VanessaRaphael21 күн бұрын
Estrogen helps the heart pump healthy. Why do you think that younger women with tons of estrogen don’t have heart diseases like older women?

Too many ill-informed doctors still confuse modern bioidentical, safe HRT with the old synthetic ones which indeed had a slightly increased risk of stroke or heart attacks... 🤷🏻♀️ You must do the research alone! Do not expect your doctor to be knowledgeable. The British Menopause specialist Dr Louise Newson is worth listening to as well ! Best wishes from Germany 🇩🇪

Would you please do a video on hrt and adenomyosis? No one seems to talk about it. Are you able to take hrt after menopause if you have been diagnosed with adenomyosis? If so, are there any challenges? Thanks.

I have been on BHRT for over 5 years and have endometriosis. A great way is to adresss your health in the gut and using protocols to reverse the condition.

This is a great talk. I’ve been looking for an http doc and found 2 in my area but one can’t see more patients and the other was sooo unresponsive and basically ignored me and blew me off. I’m having months where I bleed 2,3, weeks. Can anyone recommend a doc in New York -westchester area??

Please look into talking to the author of the Galveston diet book. She is an OB/ GYN with a specialty in HRT. She has a KZbin channel here. She talks diet, lifestyle, and HRT in all forms. She is very knowledgeable. She makes referrals to other MD s who think and treat patients like her. Best of health to you. You are not alone. 🌞🌺🙏

They can certainly prescribe it. They just might not be that knowledgeable. That had been my experience anyway.
