I had this song on a mixtape back in the mid 90s. I knew it was Menswear but was never able to find the song again. These tapes are in a box in my Dad's attic back home, will have to fish them out one day and see if any of them still play :D

If this doesn't go down like a led zeppelin it's the next big thing. I really enjoyed it... and that's the most important thing. What's more, I know a lot of people who will like this. Awesome! Jeepers! It's from '95! I don't remember it... where was I? Oh, yes... I was there. It was the '90s.

Singer bizarrely reminds me of Natalia Dyer for some reason. Just something about his facial structure. Either that or im unknowingly on acid.

The album this is from is actually pretty good but they do look awkward in this video. You've got a very stylish, androgynous frontman but the rest of the band are rather scruffy looking average blokes. It's incongruous and they all look uncomfortable together. Either dress down the frontman or dress up the band. They needed a stylist.
@Con-Man19932 жыл бұрын
That was menswear biggest problem. A lot of Britpop bands had their own identity, The label just didn't have a clue how to promote the band. The massive hype they received before this album did them no favours. When they came out sounding like every other band at the time and looking the way they did it was just destined for failure. The media turned on them and the rest was obscure 90's history.
@al81yoo Жыл бұрын
@@Con-Man1993 very well said. I remember they were on the cover of music magazines before they even had a single out and on TOTP. Massive hype turned into a fairly drab reality. The first album isn't bad, there's 3 or 4 decent songs, but compared to a lot of bands from 1994-1997 they were second rate at best.
@VooDooMaGicMan81 Жыл бұрын
This argument exposes mainstream music perfectly. Style over substance, marketing and PR before lyrical content. Shallow as fuck. I can understand it more for a band like the Prodigy, since Keith needed to match the energy of the sound with a powerful, chaotic presence of his own. Here, it doesn't change the fact the core is lacking.
