Welcome to how we all typically use our bullet journals, Mark!! Haha jk, but this is def how I've set mine up since the beginning. Def need a month view and some work tasks for sure need reminders or something a few weeks down the line. I typically set up rolling weeklies like @PlantBasedBride and every so often will do 2 months of set up in case my reminders cross the month threshhold. Can't wait to see how this goes for you and what adjustments you make along the way!

Hahaha 😆 i tried to hold myself somewhat true to the OG method but it just wasn’t working. Excited to give this new idea a try

Love that you showed another solution to the future planning. I have a hard time future planning and indexing in my current journal, so it's nice to see another way to work on one of those things. Might have to play with that idea for my own journal.

I did the very same thing the last several years...calendars up front, but I did weekly spreads ahead of time as well...but left blanks at the end for collections. There were great books at Hobby Lobby that I used.

I’m thinking of starting weeklies up front too

I use a (digital) planner and a bullet journal as well, exactly for this reason. As a future log. Especially because I need to plan ahead for my business, it's just so much easier.
@markyourpages Жыл бұрын
Yeah def easier.

I have my future log with twelve 1 grid columns on the left of the page labelled as J to D for each month on top of the column and a wide column at the right of them . when I migrate back an item, I note the day of the month on the corresponding month column and note what it's about on the line on the right. I have 3 of those pages set up. That way I can have 35 items on one month and 1 on another I don't have to guess in advance what space I'm going to need.

Ahh I also combined mine this year! I'm using one of the undated planners by Archer & Olive, in the letter size. It has blank weeklies, which I'll set up as they come, blank monthlies, which I'll use as a future log, the way you've shown here, and several pages of dot grid paper between every month that I'll be using for trackers and the like. I'm excited for my project, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with yours!

Thank you for showing us your process of planning. It's much more useful than only showing ready pages 😊 I'm still trying to find sth between planner and bujo😅

I’ve found the best solution is to experiment if you can.

I loved it! I watched last week your functional bullet journal set up. I was having the same problem, there were too many notebooks and came to the same conclusion, just add a whole year and future plan on it! I'm happy to see this video with the same idea! It looks clean! Hope it works just as neat for the rest of the year ❤

Thank you. I’m very hopeful things will work out.

That looks so good! Glad to see you could combine them, I feel like that might make things easier to have everything in one journal. I also adapted my bullet journal to fit what I need it for (as is the point of the whole thing lol) I have a vertical yearly future log with columns for each month with all days (aka my future log) with a priorities section at the top of each column And then I have a calendar grid for each month (that I only sometimes use 😅) and then I have pre-set up weeklies with boxes which is all I need as I am a student and only write down homework, events or to-dos there And in the back of my journal I have space for notes Make your journals work for you 😊
@markyourpages Жыл бұрын
Exactly! Make them work for you 🙌

So, eight months later, how do you like the new method?
@markyourpages4 ай бұрын
I really enjoyed it while I used it, but I found that I was repeating alot of content between both spaces. So this year I used a larger notebook and found a way to combine both.

@@markyourpages thank you so much! Is the square bujo the larger notebook you mentioned above? I do remember your square bujo setup (which was so cool). Starting out in A5 and finding that I get occasional thoughts of going larger and smaller. Go figure!
