I wish His Majesty’s Dragons was going to be turned into a movie or series…anyway that being said, I’ve started to see the Valerion dragons in a similar light, perhaps there were multiple wild breeds of wyverns that were then bred together through the domestication process and that’s why we see the diversity in dragons we see with just the small batch the Targs brought with them. Also we aren’t told that every egg in dragon stone was laid there, they may have brought other eggs along with the dragons. Remember we never have heard a Targ version of history, only ever the maesters version. But this all takes me back to my theory, the Targs didn’t know the Doom was coming. They were just a minor house exiled to the “frontier” so to speak and survived the Doom by shear luck. Why else wouldn’t you hire a few metal smiths to preserve valerian steal, a few sorcerers to preserve your magic and a few actual dragon breeders and a stockpile of eggs to ensure the only thing that gives you power keeps on giving you power…unless you hadn’t planned at all, unless you were only where you were due to circumstances you couldn’t control in the first place. They were dragon lords so of course they brought their dragons into exile with them, but it explains why they brought none of the other “pillars of power” that built Valeria.

No, they survived the Doom because Daenys Targaryen had a profetic dream of the doom. She managed to convince her father and they moved to Dragonstone. They moved there quickly and were made fun by the other 40 noble dragonrider families for leaving. So it was a rush move. And 12 years later, the Doom happened. We are also told that other dragon lords survived in cities like Lys and so on, but people rebelled and killed them cause now Valyria was falling into pieces and the all mighty power of dragons was gone. Volantis wanted to remake the Valyrian empire and tried to join with Aegon (who could have become emperor) but for some reason he refused and joined sides against Volantis. Then he began his conquest.

I Soo want a series on the doom or more on old valaryia, but I just may like this show better than got because it's a different situation, characters have slightly diff kind of complexity. I was left wanting to learn more on dragons, valerians, the doom, and got made me want more on north, stuff like nisa nisa and the diff bad kings and just stuff out there. The night king was not only thing there. I thought there was a floating rumor that ice dragons got bigger than Targaryen ones, the breathed ice and they arnt usually owned. Umm please let me know if that rumor was true or false

Sister who is also wife. Its cause the ability to tame dragons is tied to the blood, so in order to keep this power within the family they sort of are forced to marry among themselves. Otherwise, other houses would get the blood and thus the ability of taming dragons and challenged the monopoly the Targaryens have over them. This is cause in Valyria only 40 families were able to tame dragons so most likely they just married among themselves. Most likely, incest was a practice in Valyria as over time, those 40 families were related to each other. The Targaryens being some of the only survivors among this 40 families, means that now they have to marry among them.

In the world of ASOIAF even though they only have four limbs, these creatures are referred to as Dragon's due to the fact they spit fire. Wyverns in ASOIAF are basically dragons but no fire if I'm remembering rightly. It all depends what the rules of the world are. Plus the Author refers to them as dragons as well.
