+MM Agreed, I think this was the GT car of the 90's. As good as the Mclaren F1 was in '95, it was old and outdated by '97, and got owned by the CLK-GTR, and later the CLK-LM. It dominated FIA GT1 in '97 and '98, beating Mclaren, Panoz, Lotus and Porsche until the FIA abolished the GT1 class, and GT2 cars were now at the top.

It was never the most majestic Mercedes Benz ever, it was classy, it was the best in its class, and it won so it was a success. If you want to see the most majestic Mercedes Benz ever you need to go to one of their showrooms and ask them to show you on their computers the Mercedes Benz LM and the Mercedes Benz M. They both have 1334 BHP and road legal, but my 190m (190E modified) has a BHP of 1858, from internal combustion and two electric motors on the crank shaft. The 190m is the best they have ever produced, they sold 200 in 2015 for 2 million £'s each. And then the Mercedes Benz LML (road legal) is up there with the 190m also.

The Maclaren F1 was designed by the same computer aided design program that Mercedes Benz use. Mercedes Benz is owned by the man who owns Daimler Group, and Maclaren are in the Daimler Group. Rolls Royce, Pagani, Bentley, Daimler, Maclaren, Mercedes Benz, Ducati and Nortons are all designed similarily, with the same computer aided design program. We design for everybody but not everything they do, Audis, BMWs, VWs, Nissans, Fords, Kawasakis, Yamahas, Vauxhalls and Bugattis. The Nissan GTR was designed by us, the road legal Ford GT40, the Yamaha R1, the Audi R8, Barry Sheens Yamaha, the Chaparrel team and car that beat my Maclaren was also one of my designs. The BMW 850i, the BMW M5. When I delivered the first of the BMW 850i's to the owners of BMW it had a Mercedes Benz V.I.N. plate, they loved the car but hated that V.I.N. plate.

Eminem had a Mercedes Benz M given to him more than ten years ago, and Tom Cruise was given a Mercedes Benz LM round about the same time. I had a Mercedes Benz LML in 98, you dont know motorsport unless you know these cars and the Mercedes Benz 190m. The Mercedes Benz LM won the 24 hour Le Mans in the 80s but was disqualified because the race organisers were conned and tricked it had a banned driver aid.

This car is what turned me on to AMG- I was 15 when it came out, and remember watching it win on Speedvision.. After that my father started buying the new E55 a couple years later, and then the new supercharged version a few years later in 2005. I myself purchased the CL55 kompresor in my late 20's, and am a AMG fan/owner now for life. Love this film, thanks for uploading it!

Group C and the GT1 were the last greatest era's of sports car racing. The GT1 category spawned the most amazing road homologation specials of all time! I have had the pleasure of seeing a Porsche GT1 road version on the street and it was simply amazing!

Matter of fact both the CLK GTR and the LM were so utterly dominat in GT1 that they killed the category since no one wanted to race against them, that's why the ACO had to make a new category for Le Mans, the LMGTP, in which the CLR took off. The CLK remains as one of the most successful GT cars ever made, it won nearly 80% of the races it entered.

I remember these. Fascinating cars. When they raced, everything else was in it's way. From the international Horseshoe at Nurburgring uphill it could pass 2 and 3 cars at a Whack. This car in race trim ran Kats in the exhaust. The fit and finish of the glass and bodywork is every bit as perfect if not better than their road cars. Amazingly quiet for a race car. Whoosh.

It is actually derived from one of the normal road cars, except it is lower, has a wider track, & the running gear moved from front to rear, thus occupying the space normally used as rear seating & boot. Do your research. This is one of the most frightening road cars ever built.

The CLK GTR [ROADCAR] was based on the CLK GTR GT1 [RACECAR] as the FIA GT1 rules required atleast 1 roadcar to be built of the GT1 car. 20 coupes and 5 roadsters were built in total after the CLK GTR race programme had ended. They are not based in any way on the normal production CLK car.

Well as a child to a grown man this is still my favorite Mercedes of all time i even remember seen it on TV flying off the race track back then I think Mercedes retired this car after. Bring back the road cars in Le Mans 24 Hours and different races in the world. There should be GT3, GT2 and GT1 class open and close prototype. Then Let it race against sharkfins LMP1 and LMP2 then along side will be Hyper Car Class just one class for this. Each car manufacturer should be required to create 3,000 pieces of the cars they will race for each year for homologation.
