Good video, here some more info... Be very sure to use only MB approved plugs listed in your owners manual for correct thread depth and heat range. Plugs must be torqed correctly as this indexes the electrode properly in the cylinder. Cold cylinder head. Don't need MB dielectric, any brand will do, also can apply a bit to the porcelain so the coil boot will slide on easily. Be prepared to replace torn boots if plugs haven't been changed in a long time. Boots will stick onto the plugs. Plugs are nickel plated and don't need anti-seize. This relates to getting proper torque value for indexing. I didn't think the indexing was a big deal until I saw MB procedure with specs and pics of incorrect indexing.

Hi, good video to get an idea, just one suggestion. Grease is for the rubber boot of the coil or in any case should only touch the ceramic of the SP, not even electric tip. Dielectric grease is non conductive so if you cover the terminal you will have poor conductivity.

Hello Mike, nice vid .. just wanna know if this can also be done on a W211 E240 2006 model?

You do this work on cold Engine ? If i do it on cold Engine with a torque of 23nm like from the Manual, the sparkplug is very easy to screw it out after i drive with the car and the Engine is warm. So how can i solve this ? Maybe torque with 25nm ?

I'm glad you liked it! I do all my services except for the ATF every 80K or so. I have the blue 7G Tronic +.... if I had the red 7G Tronic I'd probably learn how to do it because the fluid should be replaced every 40K.

Mike Icee good video. Have a question is at how many pound foot of torque you set up the torque wrench?
@mikeicee5 жыл бұрын
@@fastsspr Hey you can pause the video at 1:23 the owners manual says 15-18 lb-ft... I just went for a middle value. I used the metric system (20-25 NM) my torque wrench had inch-pounds and newton meters so it was easier than converting units.

would you happen to know how to open the headlights? My lenses on mine are kind of grungy, but the bulbs and electronics are still solid. I'd rather not spend $400 plus on new headlights.

Does it matter which spark plug grease I use? I know its probably obvious but doesn't hurt to check.
@mikeicee4 жыл бұрын
xRichard_ honestly I don’t know. The MB one was pretty cheap and it at lasts at least 3 sets of plugs.

I sure wish I found this video first!! I watched a different video that said to unplug the coils and they do not unplug easy..one snapped and one just stopped working after unplugging it I didn't know so I ordered 1 new coil put it in and discovered the one I unplugged that didn't break stopped working so now I have to order another one and am waiting for it to come in now car is running terrible ...only other comment is I believe the other video said not to gap the plugs?? that they are supposed to be pregapped??
@mikeicee4 жыл бұрын
Charles Clarke they are pre gapped esp from the dealer, but I check them just in case, if outa spec I’d go exchange the one that doesn’t meet the gap spec. You can also see the gap widen at the end of life. The plugs should be changed on time to prevent them sealing with the head vs actually being worn out. I didn’t unplug the coils because you don’t have to, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Alldata said to unplug them. I do one at a time to eliminate accidentally plugging wrong cylinder coil or connector.

Will this guide be right for 2007 e350 Mercedes?

Most likely similar because they share the same engine family, the M272.

I swear a Mercedes executive said, it's too easy to replace spark plugs for owners. Make the next models difficult for no reason 🤦🏾♂️ I swear that 6th spark plug is a bitch to change and taking off the intake plenum takes more steps, annoying.

I don't remember but its in the owners manual.

You can buy pre gapped plugs Bosch I think
@mikeicee4 жыл бұрын
Yes, all the ones from the dealer were within specification. The first time the dealer had Bosch, and second the NGK. I prefer NGK although I was a big Bosch fan in general.

Will I need to get them pre gapped
@mikeicee2 жыл бұрын
Both the dealership ones and Bosch spark plugs that are the correct part number from owners manual are gapped correctly from the factory.

Hello, thanks, I got a E350 2011, looks easy to DIY. Why not change the coils also. In my E350 I got vibrations at accelerating , so I have to unpress and press the gas slowly .
