I am surprised that Fullycharged starts complaining about the look, which is a subjective thing. I will personally enthusiastically highlight the outstanding aerodynamic coefficient and not even try to indulge narcissistic aesthetic aspects. We are talking about the most aerodynamic car ever made and that deserves only praise. Still, you are my favorite channel by far!!😘
@klaxoncow3 жыл бұрын
Yes, aesthetics are a subjective thing. And Jack was offering his own subjective opinion on that. Where's the problem here? I mean, comfort is also a subjective thing too. So should they not mention the head-rests, massage features or the quality of the leather? Whether one appreciates the haptic feedback of a traditional button to an abstract touchscreen control is a matter of opinion - therefore, beyond the realms of ever being mentioned? For goodness' sake, a car review, by its nature, is a subjective opinion piece. A polemic. Where did you ever get the perverse idea that any media you consume isn't, at its heart, subjective, I'll never know. The danger here is not the offering of subjective opinion, it's the broken notion present in anyone's head that anything else actually exists. It's not whose "fake news" you're subjected to, but your fundamental incapacity to critically evaluate that pretty much everything contains some level of bollocks within it, of your own accord, that leads to error and catastrophe. You disagree with me? Good. And that's how it should be. Won't be censoring my sincerity for you, though, as - it must be understood - I'd be doing you the greatest disservice in so doing, so I refuse to sell you short with the simple, yet wrong, untruth of the matter. All in my humble opinion, of course.

@@llyh8023 yeah it feels expensive but the tech/ui is bad and the acceleration is sub par. You might take calipers to measure the panel gaps while I get sick when looking at a review of a new s class and noticing the more than 6 years old Samsung Tablet in the back. With one company you get panel gaps and with the other one you have to literally pay 50% of the starting price to get upgrades that come standard with every other car and yet the software is still clumsy and looks like iOS from 2008. „Car people“ might still prefer Mercedes but even the black edition amg gt gets smoked by a family car that costs less than half as much.

@@BeKay1211 ahh... well spoken like the typical Tesla cultist/tech geek who clearly has no concept of car culture or any interest in cars, but yet seem to think they know what makes a good car. Probably should have expected this in an EV channel that is usually filled with Tesla cultists who have somehow done the impossible by being more unlikeable than Apple cultists and the vegans hell-bent on forcing their ideals on everyone to stop eating meat. I think it's a shame that the EV movement is marred by you Tesla cultists who only seem to think that Tesla is the best "car manufacturer" in the world and be totally oblivious to the various other intangibles that go into making a good car, EV or not. And the acceleration is sub-par? In a car meant to be a luxury barge and not a performance vehicle? Ludicrous! Forget about the luxury bits, it's not even fast! Omg 😱 Hahaha, your response really does say it all about you Tesla cultists; you guys are a joke and a sore thumb to the automotive world.
@BeKay12113 жыл бұрын
@@llyh8023 ngl didnt expect to trigger you so much that you'd switch to writing in paragraphs but sure why not. My Dad drives a 21 E-Class and I drive a 2008 3 Series so no Teslas here. I like the high quality interiour but the infotainment on the e-class is just so shitty. Even the cheap Chinese Android Head Unit I retrofitted into my bmw is faster and offers a better Software experience with Carplay which you apparently only get on Mercedes if you pay extra, otherwise you're stuck with the monstrosity that is MBUX. I would expect cars released in 2021 to at least have the software experience of a phone released in 2018. Teslas do have their flaws and while I realise that Teslas are lacking a lot of features which cars at that price point should have, the same goes for Mercedes. I personally prefer a good Software experience over 100% consistent panel gaps. Tesla is a faceless company and while Elon Musk does do a lot of cool stuff that doesnt change the fact that hes a manic psycho. Again I do realize Teslas are flawed but currently, as someone who grew up in a world filled with technology its just so infuriating to hop into a nice car and immediately be disappointed by the fact that my 1k phone has better software than a car which costs 100 times as much. Coming to acceleration, the only reason why you deem it unnecessary is because you do not have it. Cars needing to look very techy and aggressive to do 0-100 in under 4 is a thing of the past. If you wanna jerk off to your nappa leather ashtrays and mahagony window switches while being chauffeured around in your phantom then fine, have at it but at that price this thing is a car which most people will still drive themselves and I personally would at least appreciate having the option to have fun with my car if I want to. Luxury cars nowadays don't need to be slow anymore and the only reason why this car isn't smoking the entire mercedes lineup is because they still want to sell their black series amg gtr crap to people like you who would actually buy something that will deafen you when accelerating while still being slower than family cars and not being able to drive over speedbumps without ripping of parts of the car. If mercedes would finally release cars that would compete with teslas in terms of tech and power (which they could if they wanted to) teslas premium lineup would die out and the only fans of these things that would remain would your "Tesla cultists" but given the ridiculous direction mercedes is currently taking I doubt this is going to happen anytime soon.

I'm a HUGE Teslateer but maintain the contention that the new yoke steering wheel on the Plaid Model S is (mostly) fine in a straight line, but a total pain in the posterior when it comes to turning, reversing etc at low speeds & watching Scarlet here today, being able to turn, reverse& run the steering wheel thru his hands, all without looking or giving the steering wheel a second thought, confirms my opinion. I'm probably not alone in believing that you shouldn't have to pay more attention to the steering wheel than what's going on outside the vehicle - which is what the Plaid Model S's yoke ends up making you do.

My biggest annoyance with capacitive "buttons" is that you can't use them by feel. By the time you touch it - you've activated it. Steering wheel buttons should be physical clicky things. You should be able to tell them apart by feel, THEN activate them with a further push. Just look at reviews/drive videos of the new Tesla Model S' yoke - people are accidentally triggering the turn signals constantly, because merely running their finger/thumb past it activates it. And that's even worse with no little raised bits to have *ANY* tactile differentiation, it's just a perfectly flat glossy surface. At least the EQS has little raised bits you can use to attempt to figure out where things are by touch.
