Merle is my favorite country singer. Just love him. He not only can sing but wrote all the great songs he sings. Thank you for posting. I starting listening to him way back in the 60's still have the 33 1/3 albums of his. Now I have them on CD.

There are not too many singers today who sing what I call "COUNTRY MUSIC". The ones I can think of off the top of my head are George Strait and Emmy Lou Harris. I grew up listening to Merle, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Tammy Wynette, Dotty West, Waylon Jennings, Tanya Tucker, Crystal Gayle, Gary Stewart, Glenn Campbell, Don Williams, Dolly Parton & Porter Wagoner, can't forget Elvis who had a few country albums. Todays country music to me is just a lot of NOISE. They play the music too loud and don't sing but scream. Each year country music gets worse and worse. I don't listen to many newcomers, instead I listen to the old timers I listed above. Hope this helps Glen. Louise
