Pentecost, Shavuot, Feast of Weeks - What exactly is this holiday all about? Sam and Tom unpack the holiday from a Messianic perspective-showing us that it all began long before Acts 2-and revealing how it all leads to the return of Jesus.
50 days after Jesus was resurrected and became the First Fruits from the dead, the Holy Spirit came down upon the Messianic Jewish disciples who were gathered together in Jerusalem alongside devout Jews from every nation under heaven (Acts 2:1-5).
But was this the first Pentecost? What is the connection between the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the giving of the 10 commandments on Mount Sinai? Watch as they explain the necessary alignment of the family of Messiah that will lead to the return of Jesus and a final Pentecost.

I’m curious to know what y’all think of speaking in tongues. I have been an apostolic Pentecostal my entire life and it always surprises me how many people do not believe in the gift of tongues even though it clearly shows it in the New Testament multiple times. The Bible makes it clear that the speaking in tongues is speaking in earthly languages rather than any kind of 'spiritual' ones and that if someone is to speak in tongues there needs to be an interpreter present. As such the fact that these days we have Google translate and more accurate translation Apps that anyone may utilise rather renders the gift of tongues redundant.

I came across your KZbin channel on accident . So grateful to have found you two. I’ve never been to the holy land. So it’s a bit confusing when different areas are talked about. There is a KZbin documentary called The Coming Temple. They make a compelling argument that King Solomon’s temple was actually in the City of David and the Dome of the Rock is where Roman Soldiers would have lived. Would you mind doing a video on this subject due to your vast knowledge of the area? Maybe use more drone footage so that people like me can have a better understanding of the area. If you have already done this; would you tell me the name of the video? My Gentile-Christian testimony is strengthened by learning Jewish customs and practices. Thank you so much for your videos. I’ve learned so much from you two.

5:04 jer 31:33 please note: the lord said "i will put my law (note the absence of the word "new" in the law he will write in the hearts of his people. jesus said not a jot or a tittle will pass away from the law of god until heaven and earth pass away. so the difference between the first and the latter covenant is where his law will be written: no longer just on tablets of stone but on the hearts of believers. plus, since the lord will not longer be present like he did earlier, he gives the holy spirit to be the other "counselor" like him in his stead.

Thank you for another great teaching video! As a gentile, I am finding your videos wonderful lessons in Judaism. I am also in the process of reading the Bible for the first time (in chronological order) and am currently in the book of Joshua so watching your videos has been very helpful in the process. I have a question in regards to your statement of the “worldwide outpouring of the Holy Spirit” upon Jesus’ return. Is it your belief that we can’t receive the Holy Spirit until He returns or do you feel that we can have the Holy Spirit now while we await His triumphant return, but we will feel it on a global scale once He is here? Thanks!
@Grafted
@Grafted 3 жыл бұрын
We can definitely receive the Holy Spirit now! In Ephesians 1:13-14, Pauls says, "After you heard the message of truth-the Good News of your salvation-and when you put your trust in Him, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. He is the guarantee of our inheritance, until the redemption of His possession-to His glorious praise!" So if you have a covenant relationship with Jesus and have put your faith in Him - given Him your allegiance - you are given the Holy Spirit as a sign of your covenant and as an empowerment for obedience to Him (Ezekiel 36:25-27). His grace enables us to obey His commandments!

@Grafted
@Grafted 3 жыл бұрын
Because of the centrality of Jerusalem and the Temple which was located in the territory of the tribe of Judah, the children of Jacob/Israel, over time, began to be referred to as the Jewish people. Yehudi (Jew) and Yehudah (Judah) are very close semantically. Although originally referring only to the tribe of Judah, the semantic range of reference grew over time and by the end of the Old Testament period, the book of Esther refers to Mordecai as a Benjamite AND a Jew even though he was not from the tribe of Judah, and Haman was intent on "killing the Jews" throughout the Persian empire which meant anyone from the family of Israel. The New Testament similarly refers to the totality of Israel as the Jewish people throughout and Paul, a Benjamite, refers to himself as Jewish along with all of Israel. Jesus even tells the Samaritan woman at the well that "salvation comes from the Jews" (John 4:22). So, definitely by the writing of the New Testament, but really before, the Jewish people is a reference to the family of Jacob/Israel or the Hebrews or the Israelites.

2:12 "after the passover firstfruits harvest." i suppose you are conflating the two commanded appointed times of pentecost and feast of unleavened bread as the wave sheaf offering only happens within the feast of unleavened bread. although lev 23 has these two as separate appointed times, by the time of jesus, the then jews refer to both commanded appointed times as "passover" as we can read in the gospels. the rabbis finally declared that shavuot was a commemoration of the giving of the ten commandments as nowhere in the written word of god makes that connection. over and over again, i did a timeline from the time the israelites left egypt to the giving of the ten commandments as recounted in the written word of god and it is always one day earlier than the commanded day to commemorate shavuot. this is just my opinion: just as the prophet joel pointed out that peter quoted on that miraculous day, i believe that shavuot was more of the prophetic symbol of the out pouring of the holy spirit on those israelites who come to accept jesus beginning that day of peter's first public declaration about jesus as the prophesied messiah that was just crucified by his own people. this was the fulfillment of jesus' promise to be with his followers through the holy spirit when he goes back to the father to make preparations for his ekklesia, his "bride."

Is this supposed to be during the tribulation period- perhaps towards the end or when Jesus comes on the clouds, on the day of the Lord? How does those who call upon the Lord will be saved reconcile with those who- at this point have already taken the mark of the beast? The day of the Lord is also Judgement day right? So those who call upon his name and are saved, will they be exempted from the wrath of God or ? for them what does 'saved' mean?

The Temple Feast of Weeks started one week earlier than the Qumran communities Feast of Weeks. Their Day of Pentecost was therefore one week earlier. How do we know which one of four different Feast of Weeks starting dates are correct for the correct Day of Pentecost ???? The solution is in the sum of the numerals in the eight Sabbath Day dates of the count - starting the tally from Sabbath Day ZERO. The sum of the numerals in the CORRECT eight Sabbath Day dates will add up to 49, thus confirming the Sadducees "Aristocratic method" of starting the count from the weekly Sabbath Day ZERO in the Feast of Unleavened Bread - no other method gives this 49 day tally to the 50th Day of Pentecost ! ! ! This affirms the 18th Abib resurrection Sabbath and the 19th Abib start of the Exodus 40 years launch into the wilderness - after being taken out of the Egyptian pit through the Red Sea on the weekly Sabbath day ! The resurrection was on Sabbath day ZERO - the 18th Abib. The 1st Sabbath after - the 25th Abib. The 2nd Sabbath after - the 2nd of month two. The 3rd Sabbath after - the 9th of month two. The 4th Sabbath after - the 16th of month two. The 5th Sabbath after - the 23rd of month two. The 6th Sabbath after - the 30th of month two. The 7th Sabbath after - the 7th of month three. 18+25+2+9+16+23+30+7= 130 1+3+0= 4 These 13 digits making up the Sabbath day dates, also add up to the 49 day tally to Pentecost on the 50th Day - the 8th of the third Biblical month on our 27th of May: 1+8+2+5+2+9+1+6+2+3+3+0+7= 49 ! 4+9=13 ! 12 disciples and Christ the 13th. This confirms the DSS's solar calendar as the correct Biblical calendar, but with THIS Feast of Weeks tally, NOT the one starting a week later that the Qumran community endorced.

shavuot was only observed when the new generation of israelites finally crossed the jordan river, that is some forty years AFTER the first passover memorial was observed. the first day of the feast of unleavened bread is A HIGH DAY like the weekly sabbath, the command is to do no work on that day. note too that though in leviticus 23 passover is a SEPARATE appointed time from the seven-day feast of unleavened bread, by the time of our lord, the then jews COLLECTIVELY called the two appointed times as passover as we can read from the gospel accounts which refer to both separately and collectively. as for shavuot, the command was to start counting after the WEEKLY Sabbath. note pentecost is NOT a sabbath. note: even during john’s time the first day of the feast of unleavened bread was referred to as a “high day,” not a sabbath. the only annual appointed time that god designated as a sabbath to his people is the yom kipurrim. maybe we also need to use the language of the written word of god to avoid this and any kind of confusion (e.g., shepherd for pastor, servant for deacon, immersion for baptism, language for tongues, etc.). the counting UP of the 50th DAY to shavuot starts from the day after the WEEKLY sabbath, not from the day after the first day of unleavened bread (john refers to this as a high day). because the first day of the feast of unleavened bread is a high day, a sabbath-like day, many confused the timeline of our lord's crucifixion, death , burial and resurrection. however, prayerful and careful reading of lev 23 will make it clear that the "sabbath" of lev 23:15 is the WEEKLY sabbath. like shavuot, the commanded observance of the weekly sabbath does not have a fixed date but a fixed day of the week (note that this seven-day cycle started from creation). unlike all the other appointed times, shavuot is the only annual appointed time of god that has NO fixed date designated for its observance, only the counting of seven full weeks + 1 day starting on the seventh-day of the week. since the counting to the 50th day till shavuot starts the day after the WEEKLY sabbath, its observance will always fall on the same day of the week, the first day of the week and not on a fixed date. on acts 2 shavuot was the fulfillment of jesus' promise to not leave his disciples alone by sending the holy spirit in the stead of his presence with them. let us all prayerfully read, study, the word of god ourselves and be like the bereans of acts 17.

Are you Christian Gentiles but go to church and members of a Messianic Jewish Church? Are Gentiles even allowed to do that? Or are you a part of the Hebrew Roots people (or something similar)? Anyway. I am enjoying the Jewish history and the Jewish angle of the Christian faith.

We are Messianic Gentiles who are elders at a Messianic Jewish congregation. Our congregation, Kingdom Living Messianic Congregation, and our network Tikkun America and Tikkun Global consist of Jews and Gentiles that love Yeshua and worship Him together. Because we are leaders in a Messianic Jewish congregation, it makes sense for us to identify as Messianic or Messianic Gentiles. However, we do not personally have any problems also identifying as a Gentile Christians because we also try to honor and respect all that is true, good, and beautiful in Church history just as we attempt to do the same in Judaism. Do you guys believe Jabal Al-Laws Is the real Mt Sinai? Have you done a show on this? I read the 'Gold of Exodus,' & seen documentaries like 'Mountain of Fire: The search for the true Mount Sinai.' These materials & others on KZbin have convinced me Jabal Al-Laws in Saudi Arabia is the real Mount Sinai!

It's actually a Feast that Adam and all the Patriarchs kept according to Jubilees, which makes it not a "messianic" or "Jewish" feast. It's for His Yahudim... His people (Hebrews and Gentiles) and Forever. Even heaven keeps it! Its the covenant renewal day annually done. It was Isaac's birthday and Yahusha's real birthday, not Dec 25th. His Holy Spirit came upon them on this day because it was part of the New Covenant based in the Old. Check out the God Culture on KZbin they do the deepest study I've ever seen on this subject of the Feasts of Yahuah.

3:55 "giving of the law...giving of the holy spirit...same day." please check out the account of the written word of god and do a timeline yourselves before teaching what you just declared. please read my comment below. would appreciate to know what you discover. i am a seeker of truth and values to be corrected when i am in error or simply not completely understanding what the message is. i appreciate the account of how, apollos, declared to be mighty in the word of god, needed correction from aquila and priscilla. and i am only a student of the word and not mighty like apollos ^_^.

8:24 "unity or alignment" will never happen as long as man does not bear in mind that the written word of god is of infinite mind and understanding of it can only be had if given by him. god warns that his word is not subject to human interpretation. that is grossly ignored and has been bringing about a plethora of sects and erroneous or false doctrines. many believers are too distracted with worldly concerns that many fail to invest time and resources on what matters in eternity: personally knowing god and living according to his way. yes, like the bereans we eagerly listen to what others have come to understand but we never should fail to check what is being shared against the entire written word of god. god declares it is the "SUM of his word' that is truth. consider how the evil one quotes the word of god even to the face of jesus.

Translator purposefully replaced Shavuot to Pentecost. This is a huge MISTAKE. The Feast of Shavuot was fulfilled by Yeshua's Ascension. Then, the Pentecost happened in the Feast of Wine. These two events can not happen on the same day. According to Torah, all males shall gather in Jerusalem for the Feast of Shavuot which His disciples all Known. He typically told His disciples wait in Jerusalem after Shavuot. May the Feast of Wine be the rapture season?! I hope so in 2024.

7:45 "all...be saved" there is a qualification here that for that time as there will be those who will not call on the name of the lord even then and would have done so even when it is obvious that the lord is god just as the pharaoh of egypt did. so it is the willful rejection of what is clearly revealed that would call for judgment of eternal damnation. it is the lie of the evil one that those who do not come to know jesus are doomed. paul declared this teaching false in romans 2.

I am sure you have the best intent with this video, so educate your selves . You say you want to hasten his return by aligning your selves / being grafted in. Seek and you shall find the truth and the way. The "Church" was not birthed by YHWH Elohim. ( It is NOT a new covenant) It was birthed by Ignatius of Antioch when he usurped the authority of The Council of Jerusalem in Antioch, declaimed him self the first BISHOP with the authority of our savior Yahshua and encouraged others to do the same. He also coined the name "Christian" at this time. Don't confuse the "Church" with the assembly of believers / The Natsarim. Acts 24:5 Paul “We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect
