Good guide and video, I agree with most of it up until the point where you go into afflic after getting imp void Note - I'm gonna be on a pvp server for classic so my philosophy is gonna be a little dif for leveling than yours. I start with 5/5 imp corr, then 2/2 life tap. After that u can go 2 ways to go for imp void immediately: 3/5 demonic embrace and then 2/2 imp health stone, or just 5/5 embrace and then go right into 3/3 imp void. After that I actually stay in demo tree for a bit longer just to get master summ and then demonic sac. This is where I switch to afflic. I usually go soul link for leveling as I'm gonna be solo alot of the time, I can duo with a healer friend irl but we won't be able to always level and play together so this is optimized for solo play. And again, it's gonna be on a pvp server so being extra tanky and having demo sac and master summ will be good for those random WPVP scenarios and random ganks, which is also why I'd go 2/2 imp health stone early on. You still get 5/5 demonic embrace anyway but the imp h.s is nice for early levels and everywhere after. After demo sac I move back into afflic and get 3/5 suppression, 2/2 drain soul, amp curse, 3/3 imp corr. At this point you should be level 45 and then I literally respec to full Soul Link build. I like doing this at 45 bc u can also get 5/5 imp corr for insta corruption and full soul link build. Then u can build NF/SL til 60 then respec for raids or pvp if u wish. There's also another build path u can go like 7/31/13 for some destro talents with SL for better damage and Shadowburn, but again it's up to u Main goal for this *leveling* build is being tanky on t there in azeroth to survive WPVP and ganks. Noone wants to fight a SL warlock lol

shroud not a bad idea. I’m lvl 35 right now with pure affliction...it’s nice but I’m super squishy and can be hard to get by with the constant ganks. I wouldn’t know the difference because it’s my first play through but I can see where the extra beefiness would be reeeally nice right about now.

@@crushjobmedia1451 fel domination and 2/2 master summ is rly nice with sac let bc u get the buff for voidwalker(which is what u should have out for lvling anyway), and then u can basically insta summon it again while u have a big ass shield from it thats 30% stronger via taking 3 points in improved void walker. So u have alot of great survivability mechanics + ur 2/2 improved health stone. I actually went SM/ruin durimg leveling on nostalrius, but it was also a PVE server so I didn't need to be tanky and my gear was great for my lv to the point I could 1v2/3 red mobs, plus I'm a pretty good warlock lol. But I'm gonna be on a pvp server and tbh I wouldn't wanna go full afflic for leveling anyway. I'll be too squishy and who knows how many gankers and pvp-hungry players(like me) will be out there in contested zones

shroud Yeah I get ganked nonstop and find myself with very little ways to fight back. Sure when I get the jump on someone and I’m lucky enough to get all my dots off I can rack up some sweet damage. But if I get ganked I’m 2-3 shot by just about anyone and there isn’t much I can do. I guess I won’t miss siphon life when I’ve got potentially 2 voidwalker shields not to mention the extra shield they get from the demonology talents! I wonder if it’s worth it to respec now at 35 only to respec again into Lifelink at 45?

@@crushjobmedia1451 if your respecs are cheap sure, but I'd also plan out your raid/pvp spec when u hit 60. If u respec now for sl, then again at 60, thats 2 respecs. And if u mess up a point by accident, u can't detract the point and redo it, and you'd literally have to do a whole nother respec just to get that 1 point correct. I'd go Google the vanilla warlock talent trees and mess with the talent points that way u can plan it out and spend the least amount of gold on the least amount of respecs possible

Late reply! VW shouldn't run out of mana, especially before ~lvl 40. Later on, you need to deactivate his auto-taunt to conserve.

Idk how your VW is holding aggro. Even when taunt it active, +3 talent, wait few seconds until he has aggro and I try just 1 DoT+wand I still get aggro... Now I'm trying the drain tank build.

Little extra tidbit. If you order your voidwalker to stand still and then run away from it you get the soulshard back. Combined with the free voidwalker from the lvl50 trinket this means a free shard every 30 minutes.

Erik Samhammer in the grand scheme of things its a small thing. But it does mean that you can go shardless. When you log in you can pop trinket and run away and get a free shard. And in raid after each boss while people are fighting over loot you can pop the trinket -> run and make an extra shard. The effect of the trinket has nothing to do with the demon its the shard generation it allows that makes the trinket so good.

IRTehDar no it’s actually for DS or Sac use to get VW back right away after using one of those. If your bags not full of shards at all times you’re doing it wrong.

5/5 imp corruption is not even up for debate. you get it asap. also facepalm on skipping nightfall because "you pull aggro" xD by the same logic you shouldn't stack +dmg on gear because you will aggro mobs easier.

The build is awful. This guy is not a pro. No one is using the build or ANYTHING close to it for speed runs. The guide is his own personal preference and is actually a very inefficient build compared to others.

Multi aoe grind is fatstes, just dot up and fear mob then go for next, i used imp and mb after 5-6 mobs. Pure afly way to go

The reason everyone else talks about getting spirit gear is because they get imp drain soul, which increases your mana regen by 100%....so more spirit=more mana regen + imp drain soul = x 100% of whatever your spirit mana regen is. You talk about using life tap so much, but I can tell you from experience that with alot of spirit and imp drain soul, I never had to use life tap because my mana regen so well, and I was chain pulling non stop. So full mana at the loss of health or full mana with super fast regen and no loss of health...yeah I know which I will choose.

I just find life tap with increased shadow damage to be more efficient. and you also simultaneously massively improve your damage. So it's a win win.

both end up being win wins if you use them right, i eventually get both because i dont like to use a set rythym. life tap lets you get full mana and do some crazy stuff, then you finish with drain soul, and go grind at normal pace til mana and health is up to par and do something big again. Also I party up as much as possible and that changes everything.

Life Tap however is very flexible. It allows for greater mobility and it can be used in conjunction with Healthstones and Potions. Mobility is one of the key qualities for fast leveling.

I still don't understand how to this day people don't know that spell damage is all you fucking need when leveling. Once a warlock gets siphoned life it's all gravy from there. Stacking stamina and intelligence and spirit doesn't make you kill stuff faster.

pick up all spells. the end. i will say that the ones you dont really use are: enslave demon, CoW, CoR, Elements, Drain life, drain mana, and CoT. however- you do use them somtimes. CoR is for cancel fear. drain mana va priests pvp (rare more later on), CoT vs casters in pvp (rare usually agony) but good vs caster when you running away, elements very rarely used until higher levels. also rain of fire not used. if you use aoe you go with hellfire. most important are your grimoires for your void walker pet. DONT FORgET TO BUY THESE.

Yikes. Really bad info on the spec guys. Take a drain soul build with lots of spirit, will keep you at 75+% mana with no downtime. Do yourself a favor and invest in a soul bag early and get delete soul shard macro. Incorrect stat priority as well.. Spell Dmg, then spirit, then int, then stam.
