Would you, by any chance, know where I could pick up some fishing weights? 😁 But, seriously, I really enjoy your videos. Especially when you find and return lost jewelry to the owner. 👍

Great day at the beach! I sure do miss those west coast beaches! From Englewood north!! Ever detect playgrounds or boat ramps?
@DetectFlorida Жыл бұрын
Not too much. I only detect playgrounds when there's a lost ring that needs to be found. I much prefer the water in this hot florida heat

@@DetectFlorida I’ve found my share of fishing sinkers and a dime or two in the sand on the “Point”. The rock groins were added a few years ago when the beach was nearly gone. After some years of negotiating with Siesta, they were finally able to dredge; starting about 3 years ago. (I am on Lido for 2-3 weeks most years….)

FYI when you see a cut. Look at the face of it. If it’s sharp drop off it’s fresh. When it gets rounded usually not so fresh How do ou like Tony headphones
@DetectFlorida Жыл бұрын
I like them a lot. They're very loud. I believe they're starting to fail though. They've been through a lot. About 6 months into owning them, I started getting water inside. My machine was just sent out for repair. I'll likely be getting some new headphones put on while its in. I didn't have a great experience having Tony install my headphones, so I'll be going another route this time

Have you too been noticing the finds have been dropping off and it's mostly junk these days? I worked Miami South Beach last week and in 5 hours I only found 2 rings none were gold. Personally, I think the economy is the main factor. But, it's just not like it used to be in my opinion, especially for this time of year.
@DetectFlorida Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's been a pretty slow year. Hopefully it picks up now that its getting warmer and more people are getting into the water
@HailNjord Жыл бұрын
@@DetectFlorida yesterday I dropped in at Manatee Beach and didn't find anything. I walked the entire 2.3 miles South to Coquina. I would drop in along the way behind a few hotels and beach access points, nothing there either. Worked Coquina from North to South and only found junk jewelry. Since people aren't using cash and we are about to switch to CDBC, coins are far and few in between now. No complaints about the coins because it's just about worthless nowadays. April into May has always been the best time of the year. Not everyone is hunting the water yet so there's more to find. The cooler water reduces inflammation allowing those rings to slid right off. Seems like there's fewer people at the beach throughout the week. The weekends seem busy but nothing to really find. I think until the economy gets better, which it's not anytime soon. Less people wearing mostly junk is going to continue equalling a bad season of hunting. Don't get me wrong I'm not giving up but the maximum effort of driving 10 hours round trip to Miami in a day. Also, working it for miles it's worth the effort right now. Good luck Shawn and keep posting videos. We all definitely need to see gold come up to keep hope alive.

Surprised you didn’t call in the registration number on the jet ski?! It’s rather ominous to see it sitting with sand in it and the key still in it?! Perhaps tell the police or Coast Guard?!
@DetectFloridaАй бұрын
It's a police patrolled beach. I'm sure it didn't take long for the proper people to be notified

? Have you ever recovered any pirate gold or silver coins? Or Artifacts of same? Not where, just if?
@DetectFloridaАй бұрын
I once recovered a copper shipwreck coin. I didn't realize it until i dumped out my clad coins from my pouch at the end of the day, and heard a distinct noise that didn't sound like the rest of them. What I thought was a penny, was coin from the late 1700's to early 1800's

What you are doing is great for the environment. You and your buddies are to be commended for all your efforts. I know that you are doing your detecting for the riches but, those items are in the environment and need to be removed.
