This was the first Sabbath album and the first Dio album I heard. Early 1990s, in Eastern Europe there wasn't much info about Western bands but I knew Ozzy was the singer of Sabbath so I thought wow, this Ozzy guy sounds so cool! :-D Anyway, to me, too, this is the best Sabbath album.

This album had it come out in the early 80s would have kept BS on the forefront, but at this point in their career the genre had advanced far beyond.

Dio just crushes this song, as well as the entire album. Dio Sabbath to me is the best version, and I heard the Ozzy stuff first guys, so don't give me the "you're too young" speech. As far as the lyrical content for Computer God goes, just to ensure proper credit, Dio must singularly get the credit for writing these brilliant foresight filled words about where we were headed then, and are now. Dio always wrote his own lyrics, and this is well documented, so Tony & Geezer, much as I love them, had nothing to do with the exceptional lyrics in this song. Just like the masterpiece lyrics of Heaven & Hell, this is ALL from the mind of Ronnie James Dio. Dio wasn't only the greatest power rock vocalist of all time, he was a brilliant lyricist, and this song proves, arguably a prophet of sorts.

Quite possibly the heaviest album Sabbath has ever done. Dio said it was the heaviest album he'd ever done. The song - much like the album - is raw, dark and heavy just the way I like it. It's in my top 3 of best Sabbath albums.

I have yet to get this Dio comeback era sabbath record on CD. I stopped on Mob Rules/ Live Evil with Dio's Sabbath. And Headless Cross on Tony Martin era. Good song although.

Get the remastred one - the 90s CD version sounds terrible flat und lifeless. And don´t hype up your expectation, it´s an okay record, but this is realy one of the best tracks on it.
