Dan Vasc is a Brazilian metal singer who used his years of vocal development to give this 250 year old song the power it craved. He has well over 200 videos out there covering a lot of different genres of music. His vocal range and vocal toolbox are incredible. This is the best version of this beloved song I am sure I will ever hear.

Dan's skills are incomparable. He sings everything from heavy metal, to folk, to opera. His covers of songs from the Witcher series are spell binding. His One Man Choir performance of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus is jaw dropping (he does all four parts in 24 voices). Honestly, everything he sings is worth listening to.

I love the fact that you played the video all the way through and gave this Spiritual the respect it deserves. I saw the emotion that it brought forth from you, I have watched many reactions to his incomparable rendition and most of the reactors and comments are the same. Utter reverence. "Voice is the only instrument made by God" From what I have read about Dan, he is a Christian man. The harmonica lends a Celtic feel to the cover. I am a devout Catholic and I have been to many Irish funerals, bagpipes usually play this Spiritual outside of the Church. I also happen to be a recovering alcoholic. I love how raw & delicate he started the song even with the slight echo & with each verse exposing more talent & intensity. Dan Vasc has a God given talent that he has perfected into what it is today. He sang this song the way it was MEANT to be sung with such respect, emotion & with a POWERFUL impact. I FELT the presence of GOD!!! This is the absolute very BEST version of Amazing Grace that I've EVER heard in my ENTIRE life & I'm old (LOL). The first time I saw this over Easter weekend 2023, I watched over and over again. Without a doubt, the most powerful rendition I have ever heard. He put 100% of himself in this song. Now, watch his Gethsemane version....wow! Thanks for sharing!

I'm so grateful you reacted to this. I've shared on a few videos my story. A couple months ago, I was in a very dark place. Living every day was a struggle. Somehow, I ended up on KZbin and this came up as a suggestion. Let me tell you, I was sobbing uncontrollably by the end of the song. I had never felt so seen as the flawed human I am who is doing her best to make it to the next day. I'm not religious, but I felt like God had hugged my heart and filled me with a glimmer of hope. I now listen to all of Dan's stuff on here and Spotify and it's been a wonderful journey. Dan saved my life and I'll be forever grateful. As Dan says, have an epic day.

I love all Dan's stuff. His version of "I'll Make A Man Out of You" from Mulan is a good one, as is his duet with Violet Orlandi doing Seal's "Kiss From A Rose" (he also has a solo version bit the duet is best). He also covers Pavarotti, Simon & Garfunkel, Journey, Sabaton, Elvis ... you name it.

Your face said it all! Everyone is right - this man is incredible and having recently discovered him I now have to have a 'Dan Fix' every day! Still makes me cry and I can't tell you how many times I've listened to it, along with his other covers. Please check out 'Gethsemane' from 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (the musical) - it is the most convincing portrayal I have ever seen and whilst I appreciate some will point out it isn't necessarily 'accurate' in the biblical sense - Dan is a Christian and it didn't stop him doing it and it really is something to behold. He doesn't 'just sing' he 'lives' his performances and this demonstrates that beyond belief . . .

For 3+ months I’ve listened to Dan Vasc’s Amazing Grace and like so many others, troll the channels to hopefully revisit my own initial awe and joy. Your face after the first stanza was priceless. Dan’s voice is like velvet in the beginning then he performs his magic turning a harmonica into bagpipes then electrifying your inner being with “When we’ve been here 10,000 years”. Dan's a pretty cool dude. I first discovered him over a year and a half ago via an original song he made for the opening of a weekly stream called Friday Night Tights. It hooked me into that show the first time I tuned in, and I haven't missed a show since. It hypes you up. My personal favorite from him is "I'll Make A Man Out of You" from Mulan, his Sabaton cover, and his "Angels We Have Heard on High" in which he sings in like 4 different languages. He also has a cool interview on a stream with Chrissie Mayr. It's good to see you back. It's been years, pretty much.

If you haven't already done this, you need to read about what inspired John Newton to write Amazing Grace. It is a fantastic story and very inspiring. It began in December of 1772! Knowing about the story behind the song, you will come to appreciate the song even more! The Grace of God can reach every soul!

I listen to Dans version of this at least once every day. Usually start my day with this and his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. my poppa passed away febuary of this year. i got a tattoo that says "leader of the band Dec.30 1932-Feb.18 2023" because he was an amazingly talented steel guitar and dobro slide guitar player. he willed me his Dobro brothers original slide guitar to me and i've taken it up in his honor. it devastated us when he passed and despite almost a year in 2 more months later, it still hurts just as much as it did that day he left.

Since I first heard this song sixty some years ago it has been my favorite piece of religious music and my favorite version has been recorded in a large concert hall with great acoustics and about forty bagpipers going full blast. However, this is an amazing performance on so many levels and clearly has become one of my top three songs of any genre.

I'm not even a Christian and I love this version. The first couple of verses, it was like he was trying to bring people up to speed, and after the harmonica, it's like "Ok. That's enough.
