Quick update. I upgraded my tracbar with Metalcloak, but the bump steer was still there. Next, I upgraded to a Big Bore PSC steering box and all bump steer went away… stoked.

I have the Jeep wrangler Rubicon ecodiesel with a very similar setup to yours. I reduced my lift by half inch to 4" total and with the high steer kit, I also run my Cooper SST 37s at 26 pounds - and with the other mods it all came together...hope it all worked out for you.

Do your drag link and tie rod too, with the RockSport stabilizer, another $800.

Nice video. I like Metalcloak products. I had the same issue. I also found that my lower ball joints were shot. I went with a 2.5 ton tie rod and drag link. Reid high steer knuckles. Now, track-bar, and drag link are almost perfectly straight across. No bump steer now. Drives great. Also went with a heavy duty ball joints. Couldn’t be happier.

i think one thing that would have helped you is to ad more caster lenghten the lower control arms a little that will help a ton i am running 38s no stabilizer no death wobble

@4x2WagonFamily you need new ball joints for the front axel where they connect to the knuckles. That will tighten up your steering the rest of the way. I just did mine and the steering is much better.

I had the same issue after doing metal cloak 4.5” lift with all 8 control arms, synergy tie rod and flip kit drag link and Teraflex HD ball joints, and a 300.00 alignment. One thing I overlooked trying to save money was the I still had the rough country track bars, come to find out my RC track bar bushing were shot and once I put on the MC track bar no issues at all. Looks like you may need to go to MC track bars and it will fix it

I just upgraded to a psc XD Steering gearbox and it resolved all my steering issues 100%

Seen kit earlier on KZbin for high steer kit think from terflex. $1,900 & requires welding on both sides of jeep one bracket blots to steering gear box & has less welding. Unsure if it works though & lot of $ if doesn't. It appears to lower the angles though.

Just an FYI you can’t eliminate bump steer with this front suspension set up. The flatter everything is the better it’ll be. The thrust angle is what the issue is. I see it was reduced but it doesn’t matter. You’ll always have the issue. But if you get it flatter you’ll get better. That’s just what it is and I’m sure you knew that. K.I.S.S.

After doing more research apparently the angles will never be flat, but the psc big bore steering box resolved the bump steer issue. I’m not sure if I’m masking the issue but if you know how to get my angles flatter let me know.

@@4x2WagonFamily spacers or relocating things. Just like your track bar the steering is the same.

I have the whole suspension front and back all metal cloak, along with the heavy duty Terra flex ball joints. My jk only has a 2.5" lift, I haven't done the high steer yet, but but with the bump steer issue I may have to try the high steer next?

Have your daughter inside the Jeep rocking the steering wheel back and forth while you are underneath observing what part of your steering is loose wth play , it will be obvious .

is the steering gearbox nice and tight? check castor, air pressure also look into getting bigger tires instead of higher lift....cheers!

Brand new steering gearbox, alignment, and caster angle looks good, running 37” tires. Thank you.

Look at your geometry on your control arms. That's your issue 😒. I went through this. Plus it will help you crawl rocks better.
@stinkymcstinkerton18542 жыл бұрын
I first remove my stabilizer then check all of the steering joints/ball joints and steering box for flex.If good I proceed to check my caster. If lowers are fixed I drop one upper arm then adjust caster. Mine us about 4.5 degrees. I also measure my axle at ride height to make sure it’s centered. If the pendulum is off, it will bump. Inspect all control arm bushings, too. Also make sure the rear axle is aligned and centered with the front.

Metal cloak quality is going down hill. They are rushing production and your paying for corporate greed . Seek out a quality supplier rather this company.
