I think its because of the way she was marketed for so long. Her team wanted her to be the next pop princess but it never really fit who she was, so people misunderstood her for the longest time. They couldn't see past the 'image'.
@Cookie4811Mau3 жыл бұрын
@@itsonlysound You worded it perfect. She'll always be "Hannah Montana" to some people.
@jamesredman12633 жыл бұрын
I think more of it comes from her attempts to break out of the Hannah Montana image (which series I found smarmily obnoxious BTW). She, or her handlers, went for sexual sensationalism which brought out the perfect storm of body jealousies and puritan rage. And well, extreme it was. Twerking in such an overt way positioned in front of a male singer who was mortified to be there and swore never to share a stage with her again. Doing Wrecking Ball in the nude. Et cetera, so on and so forth. She said it was to call attention to her music. But it had the opposite effect, eclipsing her talent instead. And she IS a real talent. I liked this a lot. And look forward to see what she will do from here.

Honestly even if you don't like her music, credit where credit's due, she pulled off an amazing performance.

I agree Cristhian! I think she did a stellar job! It’s most likely such hardcore Metallica fans that can’t see what’s good here. Sometimes we get so stuck on the original version of a song , that we can’t see a cover for its beauty. I really try to keep an open mind about every song I listen to.
