More realism than graphics. If you wanted your world to feel believable you added mechanical attention to detail as you can only fit so many unique and high-res assets onto 9,4 Gigabytes. One reason solid gameplay mechanics were just the better use for development effort opposed to filler content.

The entries in the 'Xeno' meta series are some of my favorites. Xenosaga is even the reason I got a PS2. I went in halfsies with my mom on it and it's really the main reasons I dusted off my PS2 and games. Come to think of it, over time I've crossed paths with at least one version of each of the Xeno games. Got Xenosaga I as my buy-in game with my PS2. Traded a copy of Front Mission 3 for Xenogears and a PS1 compatible memory card for my PS2. I bought my Wii-U in order to played Xenoblade X. Xenoblade 2 basically distracted me from a serious bout of depression at just the right moment. I'd honestly forgot that I'd even pre-ordered it and then it was there on my front step when I needed something to occupy my mind. And I picked up the portable version of Xenoblade Chronicles after, get this, I won a New Nintendo 3DS XL out of a keymaster. Is there a word for suddenly realizing that something is much more significant to your life than you thought it was? I mean, "spouse", but I'm not married to a game franchise. :P

Nice to see you still give love to such individually looked good games. For me, I never got into the Playstation 2 at all. My console gaming time completely died with the Dreamcast. After that I have gone all into PC gaming but even that not for long. Now I am more or less out of gaming and looking back to the gold old days and think one day, if I have more free time I will revive these long gone gaming days and replay some of the games I have best memories off. Frankly I don't think that will ever happens until I sit down and take the time to do so^^ -Tian

I still play a lot of stuff on the PS2 and even earlier consoles. But just to stick with the PS2, there surely are a shit ton of games i can always go back to and enjoy the shit out of it almost as if i never played it before and found out about that gem. To mention a few: Shadow Hearts (+ Shadow Hearts II.................or "Covenant" as it is known in the west) Suikoden V Star Ocean 3 Dead or Alive 2 Gran Turismo 3 + 4 Outrun 2006 Taxi Rider Mercury Meltdown NFS Underground 1 + 2 Legaia 2 ............too many to mention. The glorious PS2 with no fucking internet (outside of the other adapter), no DLCs, no fucking patches to "fix" the game they released unfinished because "fuck you, give me money", no Microshits, no Loot-fucks, always physical WITH manual, etc. The PS4 may have sold over 100 mio units by now but still that console doesnt even come close to the PS2-level, PS1-level or a few other consoles before the 7th gen where fucking internet had to play a fucking role in gaming.

These are some suggestions you should consider for your next PS2 video: Motocross Mania 3, Fantastic 4, Monster Jam, Mission Impossible: Operation Surma, 007: Everything or Nothing, Blitz: The League, and any of the Street games whether NFL, NBA or FIFA. Oh I almost forgot to mention the Dynasty Warriors series as well.

I am sad. I felt nostalgic about my PS2. So i went to my parents home, dust it off, brought it back to my place, plugged it in... And it does not work... I am kind of sick of this new era of gaming, and The modern titles don't call my attention and i get bored. So i turned to the old games, that's what i want to play. Funny that you should mention Grand Theft Auto Vice City and GTA 3 because I recently got my ps2 up and running again and bought a GTA double pack which came with GTA 3 and Vice City. I played Vice City all the time when I was younger. It was my first introduction to GTA and I loved it. I'm a 90's kid so wasn't really nostalgic from the 80's sense but I agree, the game was groundbreaking and had massive personality and I had so many hours of play by myself and with friends. It was really fun. So after many years, I literally missed it and had to buy it again! Also had to get Kingdom Hearts again. Wish I still had the gameplay manual! That got us through some hard parts for sure. Yes PS2 was and still is an amazing system. Are the graphics as clear or advanced as todays? Definitely not, but that's part of the charm. I don't really want realism in a video game. I just want it to be fun. Next on my list is Gran Turismo 3 Loved that game too. Even had the steering wheel and pedals controller for it.
