I'm always utterly mystified by drummers, i'm a guitarist but I have no idea how you guys always manage to stay so much in control of all four limbs trying to do different things at once! I can only manage to keep my legs in time OR my arms - I know drummers get shit sometimes but credit where it's due, it takes a lot of skill. Awesome videos as always Josh

I have the exact same problem. Seriously! HOW DO YOU DO IT?!?!?!?!
@Dejiek7 жыл бұрын
Honestly, if you learn a few techniques, patterns, and fills, it becomes pretty easy. I just picked myself up a drum kit, and it's not as bad as I thought! (I'm originally a guitarist)
@rodolphschmirnoff28537 жыл бұрын
One limb is always leading, a constant pattern.usualy whatever arm is your best, right hand lead or left hand lead. The other arm plays the snare, wich is based on a constant pattern , whatever else is based on that pattern. As for feet all patterns are based on root patterns wich only use 1/4 1/8 and 16ths notes to derrive main patterns. Everything else is practice and feel. Jazz fusion/ latin clavee beats and odd time signatures do take a long time to learn but it's still an extension of the basics. Sort of like building scaffolding. It's a fuckin blast even knowing only basic independance after a few years of smashing shit hehe
@opticFPV6 жыл бұрын
Drummers are definitely impressive, but don't sell yourself short as a guitarist. Drummers are in control of all four limbs, and us guitarists may only use two limbs, but we're also in control of each of our fingers on our left hand :p

I'm still not even convinced that it was Lars playing on this album... I mean, it's just so much different than the rest of the albums, and Josh even admits that Lars never stays true to his studio drums when he plays live... I personally think they hired someone to imitate Lars' style, because Lars probably couldn't handle it... Check out Lars playing drums to a Guitar Hero track... He couldn't even play the stuff off this album! Not to mention, they left songs off this album on the setlist for years because Lars couldn't play them.
@awesomeness01117 жыл бұрын
thelegionary07 how do you explain Seattle 1989?
@thelegionary077 жыл бұрын
He isn't loyal to a lot of his fills. They play the stuff sped up which covers mistakes. They didn't play Dyer's Eve at that show if I remember. A lot of the title track is easy, just memorization. Lars wasn't that good.
