That's the first Metallica song I learned. Master of Puppets is my favorite song to play though, I drove my parents crazy when And Justice For All came out, I spent 2 weeks learning One😂

@@Solomon_Rossman_Drumming 41 years seriously, but I learned wipeout and come together when I was 6 or 7 and my dad used to let me sit in with his band when he'd take me to the bars with him, things were different in the 70s🤣 My dad and my grandfather both played drums, so in 5th grade I joined the school band and really learned the snare drum, my grandpa bought me my own kit when I was 11 because he didn't want me cracking his symbols or ruining the heads on his 😂 so I started taking it seriously in 1983. Metallica has always been my favorite band, I've seen them live 6 times. I used to be able to play every song up until Load 2 came out. That's when I joined the Navy. Saint anger was a letdown but their latest album is pretty tight.

First of all, thank you for your service! Second of all, that’s amazing!!! Metallica is my favorite mainstream band as well! I got to see them live for the first time a few weeks ago! I don’t know about you, but it bothers me when people hate on Lars Ulrich (especially since most of them have no idea what they’re talking about). I didn’t love St. Anger, but in my opinion it was better than Death Magnetic and Beyond Magnetic. But hey, whatever floats your boat!

@@Solomon_Rossman_Drumming I haven't played for money in 8 years, but I've got my kit set up and ready for when my son wants to learn, he's 7 years old now and hasn't shown any interest, my dad MADE me learn wipeout and come together when I was his age, I'm not going that route, I've got 3 girls, my oldest daughter is 31 and can't play anything but the stereo, my 29 year old daughter plays guitar and sings, my 17 year old daughter is a senior in highschool and is lead in concert choir, she got to sing in stage with Foreigner last weekend, quite possibly the proudest moment of my life, I got to play with Greg Allman's band once and opened for The Amazing Rhythm Aces once, but I would have given my left nut to get on stage with Foreigner. My son is only 7 and I really hope he takes an interest. If I could pass on one piece of advice that my grandfather taught me, play as often as you can with musicians who are much better than you and it will make you a better musician. My grandfather could play swing and waltz beats with such precision and ease, my dad grew up on the Beatles and Cream and the Eagles, I grew up with KISS, Alice Cooper and Metallica. My grandfather couldn't play the parts I play, my dad has no idea how to do diddles on two bass drums, but both of those men are more comfortable in the pocket than I'll ever be, and I hope my son learns to be better than me..... Keep Rockin' Brother, music keeps you young. I'm going to put the video of my daughter Jennifer down below.
