I live in Scotland and have had 50mm of snow lying since 1st January with temps struggling above -1 degree. Everything still happens.

It sounds as though you are getting about the same wx as in US where yet another storm is parading across the nation, one on New Year's Eve featured, among others, a lightning strike on the US Capitol building yikes on that. Thanks for this week's forecasts and quiz and Happy New Year🎉

Why did ice warning end for Scotland today at 10:00 and then reintroduced for 16:00, why not for 10:00-16;00?

Can you explain why in ashford Kent the temperature on Saturday and Saturday remained at 1° most of the day and into the night. But the initial rain that fell was largely rain then became snow? If is a warm front it should turn to snow the slowly turn to rain?
