About the Lady part. Adam is an AI programmed with the brain of Adam Malkovich, who was Samus's chief officer back when she was a soldier in the galactic federation. "Lady" has always been a nickname Adam gave Samus, due to her being the only woman in the squadron. She never liked the nickname, but she grew fond of it after Adam died, probably for nostalgia.

The game does indicate when raven beak takes over as adam. After samus wakes up thats when raven beak takes over as throughout the entire game adam never calls samus lady and at the beginning of the game adam did call samus lady. This is a subtle clue that raven beak took over after samus woke up. When samus gets back to her ship after defeating raven its the real adam again as u literally just killed raven beak so it could not be him.

If you wanna know why Adam calls Samus Lady. Definitely play Metroid Fusion, the game playing directly before Dread. It is not condescending quiet the opposite actually. The moment Raven Beak begins impetsonating Adam is the moment you can control Samus. Lady is a nickname he gave her, and he never uses it afterwards. Also he begins using Samus‘ full Name, Samus Aran The colored symbol blocks arent actually antitheticsl to Metroidvania. Super Metroid invented them. So they essentially were born with Metroidvania. Every 2D Metroid had those blocks ever since Super Metroid, they are tradition. Sure its gamey but its tradition. We are playing a human jellyfish bird hybrid woman with a biomechanical suit which can regenerate lost parts, can be replicated by copying aliens and can be dematerialized at will. In Metroid we call nonsensical concepts and occurences (and there are a lot) bird magic!

Thanks for the comment! I've only seen bits and pieces of Super Metroid gameplay but I don't remember seeing the blocks, I think I'm going to play that soon (and then Fusion after). Will be interesting to see the series' origins

@ There are many blocks, especially MB Bomb Blocks, Super Missiles, Power Bomb and Speed Booster blocks. All showinh tje symbol. In Dread a missile reveals them in Super Morph Ball Bombs reveal them. Super invented them
