In this video, Elliott discusses the concept of "mewing," a facial exercise touted for its benefits beyond aesthetics, including improving breathing and overall body function. He delves into the origins of mewing and its potential to widen nasal passages, drawing from the research of Weston A. Price. Additionally, he suggests incorporating bioenergetics exercises with an expanded palate as another method to enhance nasal capacity and overall health.

I do this and mouth taping at night. My dentist did a 3d imaging of my sinus last year. He showed me how big my airway was compared to his “normal” patients. I also try to nose breathe whenever possible. Been doing this for over 3 years. Wish I knew this when I was younger. Mouth breathing for most of my life. 52 now.

How do you breathe if your nose clogs up in your sleep???
@AlexLifts1971

@@frblaze2 you would be surprised how little air or how low you breathe at night. I caught a cold in January and I thought I couldn’t do it with a runny nose but I actually was able to. I’d clear it out in the morning. It’s claustrophobic more than anything to be honest. Our respiratory rate is so slow when we sleep it doesn’t require a big airway like say climbing stairs

@@AlexLifts1971 but your breathing increases at one phase during sleep, you're not making sense, maybe you don't have sinus issues but I have inflammation in my nose where is would get blocked by 90-97% where I couldn't breathe through my nose at all... Had I had tapr on my mouth I may have suffocated

@@frblaze2 I use waterproof bandage tape and I believe the dedicated mouth tapes are breathable. Yeah I’m no expert but when I had that cold I was able to do it. I don’t have sinus issues but as a mouth breather I have a very small palette and some crooked teeth. I also had all my wisdom teeth removed due to crowding. Somehow I was able to use the mouth tape. The reason I did it is because I had developed periodontal disease from years of sleeping with my mouth wide open. My perio is not under control as the saliva is keeping my gums healthy now that I don’t have dry mouth from opening my mouth all the time

Its so true. My wife breast fed both my kids until they were a little over 2 years old. I have about a medium palet and my wifes palet is small. But both my kids have really defined jaws especially my son. I definitely believe the breast feeding helps.

Started mewing maybe a month a go and have noticed my jaw shape has changed. More defined and pronounced. Definitely works.

No it has not. Use your brain for one second. Either you've lost weight or the changes are all in your head. Mewing is not going to have an affect in only a month, if at all.

No grains? He analyzed as well the fishermen from the far not of Scotland. Their staple was oatmeal, as well as rye bread for the Swiss. The point was, those grains were organic, whole, and properly cooked.

I have been unintentionally mewing since a young age. I also chew chicken bones, which is something many modern people do not do. My head is not big, but my teeth and jawline are better than most.

to call mewing an exercise is kind of off the point. ideally (which in fact is just normally) it should be postural and subconscious.

Mewing only means that you are consciously practicing anatomical tongue position, much like you would correct your bodies posture.. i cannot speak to your experience, but I believe everyone is meant to assume proper tongue posture, otherwise you risk developing facial dystrophy (forward neck, underdeveloped facial bones, jaws, and airway)
