+XxWales15xX To be fair, Hyper Mode is only canon to Sonic 3 and I think one comic. They're mainly using the TV series (Sonic X) and the modern games. If they did give Shadow everything, he'd have his upgrades from Sonic Adventure 2 and all his weapons from Shadow the Hedgehog.

Did you know that IN Sonic Adventure 2, the game he premiered in, Shadow actually debated with HIMSELF whether or not Sonic was actually the ultimate lifeform. It's in the final boss fight right around the four minutes mark of the boss fight. Then Sonic mentions it again near the start of the end credits sequence.

They treat non-canon information and feats as supporting evidence. In the Death Battle Cast for Ryu vs. Jin, they mention that, in the comics, Ryu can teleport across the entire planet. He can't do anything like this in canon, so they didn't count it. However, they did count Akuma shattering the meteor, since he's done things nearly as impressive in canon. They wouldn't use many of Archie Shadow's feats (which are basically Universe+ level, if not beyond) because he's never displayed any semblance of power CLOSE to that in the games - the closest is when Super Sonic, Super Shadow, and Super Silver all together defeated Solaris - and even then they were only able to by attacking the place his soul was tied to via the Chaos Force. It's expressly stated in-game that they wouldn't stand a chance against his full might.

I call bullshit for two reasons. One - Shadow HAS some level of mental resistance which was proven at finale of shadow the hedgehog game from 2004 when he was the only one out of sonic gang to resist black dooms paralysing mind control. So taking control over him would bot go as easily as they have depicted it would. Two - while it is hard to fight against who knows all your moves you CANT defend yourself against someone who moves at light speed and can control the fabric of time and space itself. It is very possible that Mewtwo would not be able to use most if his powers. But the result is what it is. I just wanted to point those two things out.

The inhibitor rings are also there cause, if I remember correctly, he'll faint cause Shadow's power is kinda spilling out and it needs to be contained or it can be very dangerous to his life force... I think this is the reason, not entirely sure so please don't kill me internet.

I realize this is seriously late, but they didn't feature Mega Mewtwo X because he's never been shown to use that Mega Evolution without a Trainer's assistance. He has, however, transformed into Mega Mewtwo Y without it, so it's reasonable to assume he could do so in a Death Battle scenario.

Funny, I wanted to pick Shadow but had to go with Mewtwo. Granted, I grew up with Sonic and not Pokemon, so I don't really care for the Pokemon anime stuff and only know him from the games and Pokemon Origins, where he isn't nearly as powerful. Shadow, on the other hand, could win if Mewtwo couldn't read his mind, because his durability and offense are both higher than Mewtwo's in-game. On a different note, I get more and more tired of the Death Battle style every time I watch a new episode... They don't go nearly in depth enough, and it's 90% favoritism and 10% comparisons between fictional worlds and the real world XD

My god you guys really know nothing about Mewtwo, Even Death battle low balled his full psychic power....Seriously his power is way beyond the powers of guys like Palkia and Dialga the two space and time pokemon you mentioned, Mega Mewtwo Y is banned on competitive use from how broken it is. Also his full psychic power was quantified at around Dwarf Star levels meaning that he can emit a burst of psychic power equal to that star's maximum energy output. Mewtwo is way more broken than you guys give it credit for in all honesty this battle was a mismatch from the beginning the only place where Shadow is superior is in Speed.

Yeah, IIRC Mewtwo had the highest BST before Arceus, and its Megas have a BST rivaled only by Mega Rayquaza, who's banned from Ubers. They didn't really do Mewtwo justice in this fight.

Omegeddon First of all Shadow can't do it indefinitely he can only do it in short burst at a time he also cannot use any of his other powers while freezing time making the power impractical for combat it can be used to land a couple of hits but nothing major.
