The Jalisco New Generation Cartel is Mexico’s deadliest narco empire. But amidst rumours that their leader is actually dead - could this all be about to crumble?
In ten years, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel has come from nothing to become the deadliest rising power in Mexican drug trafficking.
They have achieved this by applying unprecedented levels of organised, paramilitary-style violence - even using tanks and drone warfare against other cartels and the Mexican military.
But, rumours are swirling that the near-legendary boss of the CJNG is out of action - and possibly even dead. Could this be the beginning of the end of this brutal cartel empire?

Mushrooms did wonders in my life. Over the course of my life, I've suffered from uncontrollable, depression, anxiety, alcohol, smoking, and illicit pills addiction. Imagine carving heavy chains for a long time and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. This is something that really needs to be used globally to help people with similar health challenges. It is important to not lose sight of the fact that the developed world that provides the demand for drugs is partly responsible for what is happening where the stuff is produced and smuggled through. People will never stop wanting drugs so, in my view, the only solution is to legalise recreational drugs. This would stop the black market and enable them to be taxed and regulated.

@@Legolas2 I understand, but I simply think that is just not possible anymore. They tried this approach in the 80’s, and Pablo Escobar, the Cali Cartel, Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo all got BIG time. Now the internet is here, people know all about drugs, and they use for a variety of reasons. To escape mentally, to party, to fit in, to do whatever. I just don’t think censorship of said drug culture/removing it from the media will change anything. I think legalization will, which comes with heavy bouts of information about said substances, helpful treatment if needed, and education about how and what drugs do, rather than condemnation.
@Rastafarianinja
@Rastafarianinja Жыл бұрын
You would think so, but it has only added fuel to the fire. The taxation of legal drug sales drives people back to illicit sellers b/c it’s cheaper to buy from them. I’m not sure that this is a problem we can solve at this point
@FlowerItzel18
@FlowerItzel18 Жыл бұрын
it’s more complicated than that, the US don’t really try to do a big change to get drugs out of the streets because the people who use drugs, for the most part are marginalized people and they’re not useful to society. there’s also institutionalized racism but no one wants to talk about that. So as long as the rich get richer and the poor become poorer there won’t be a change. Humans are innately corrupt to the core.

@@glockloverblockhugger23 I've been learning since I was about 8 years old using dictionaries and stuff like that. My neighbors are street drug dealers for the CJNG but they're pretty low level, still the police can't do anything to them because of the government basically taking away all of the military and police power to do anything. If they arrest them in a rough way (basically using any kind of physical force) or they enter their home and arrest them the police or military are punished and the drug dealers are let go. So the police doesn't bother anymore. We're almost done paying for our house and we're planning to move to a safer part of town as soon as we do so. Funny enough the safest parts of town are where the families of the high level narcos live because everyone knows no one has the balls to do anything violent or shady there.

The magic of video editing by VICE: in the sequence at 6:19, just after the host mentioned that CJNG uses drones to target people you see a community police patrol looking worried because they've been told a drone is following them closely. This was from a previous video by VICE, where they embedded with this patrol and had one of the VICE people pilot the drone. In the original video they soon realize that this is VICE's drone, but here without the explanation and right after drones were mentioned as a weapon the same sequence looks much more interesting, as if VICE had captured this dangerous situation on video.

Its crazy how these cartels are so well armed, almost untouchable. My question is kinda... What leads to such gruesome acts they commit and post online? Is it rival gang turf stuff? To produce fear in that rival gang? I don't think that works if they are all on this kinda big level.. But it for sure gives fear to the general population about their reputation, maybe that's the goal? I see guys in full military gear and weapons knowing they are a criminal gang tho, I don't need to see torture videos to know they are already dangerous and to be feared as a civilian. So what is the point of these torture execution videos that seem to surround drug cartels? Is it just to state they are not to be messed with? idk. I woulda thought that would really go without saying. Kinda hard to wrap my head around. The turf wars and killings I can see, but the torture stuff seems like unnecessary flexing and nothing else.

They’re mercenaries that are well trained and armed to the tooth. They say that The Jalisco Cartel used to be called “Mata Zetas” they were formed to hunt down and kill Members of the Zeta Cartel. The Zeta Cartel is the most brutal and fearless cartel in Mexico.

@@BleuBelair the comeback better not happen its better to not involve the innocent in this cartel bullshit especially with my family being over there the zetas were the dogshit of society for having no sympathy for the civies and yes I know lots of cartels kill innocents but not as much as those fuckers im pretty sure

I worry a lot about the reporters and anyone who is brave enough to show their face and also share any info about the cartels. Mi gente mexicana sufre for estos pendejos pero no se cansan de pedir auxilio por que nadie los escucha

An old white lady friend I have here in Southern California went to Mexico for a surgery she got for cheap in July I believe. She goes to a hotel there to get well. Instead, the whole Tijuana was lit up with guns and blowing cars up!! Lol, long story short, my old lady friend made it out safe and sound after being stuck in the hotel for a week and a half watching out her window the chaos.

I always wonder how do they get paid? (the sicarios) Do they have health insurance? Do they get paid in dollars or pesos? Every 2 weeks or monthly? Do they have sick days? (meaning got shot and can't go to work) Can they quit?

In Mexico every1 gets paid every week, mostly Saturdays. They get in pesos. Only way u can quit is if u leave the state n not get caught I guess. But mostly are to dumb and join the cartels in the city they live in....thing is if u mess up guess who they go after....family
