I’m a subzero main and I feel you bro. Especially about the ice ball not being able to combo. Also the cool down on the ice clone is total BS. Then on top of that I literally don’t understand his damage scaling when characters like cyrax gets both more damage and the faster projectile that can confirm into foam. Also if he is the Grandmaster of Lin Kuei why is he not stronger than most of the other members?

Another great vid Bouey! Totally agree with everything you said. Just some thoughts here: Sareena is one of Sub-Zero's best kameos because he doesn't necessarily have a DAMAGE problem, he has a HIT-CONFIRM problem, outlined by what you mentioned. Deadly Vapors costing a bar to use and the fact that it has TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT (command grab equivalent????) damage scaling forces him to choose kameos just for a simple hit-confirm. Feels terrible compared to the rest of the cast and previous iterations of Sub. Just goes to show how much he was obviously built around the kameo system. Side note for all Sub-Zero players: If you are ever in the situation mentioned at 20:19, where you think the ice clone is going to come out as ice ball and you're unsure what input to do, land and do a stand 3 kick before clone. In my experience 99% of the time when that happens, it means you had time to get an extra kick in, which will not only squeeze out more damage but will make the ice clone a guarantee. Excited for the buffs!

1:18 lol that’s tragic Honestly a lot of sub zero players don’t understand him. Or players who advocate for his buffs. 50% of the time I see someone asking for sub zero buffs they ask for damage buffs, instead of the real things he needs. For some reason people don’t get that he’s not really supposed be doing tons of damage anyways. Only way he did 50% meterless in mkx was with ice clone and frost bomb which is situational. Cryomancer sub zero also had to spend 3 bars to break 50%. If you buff ice ball his combo damage will go up by about 5%. His combos that do use kameo meter wont be as expensive because he would be able to combo without them.

also not mention sub-zero can't perform any combos at all without kameo or bar or if he is in the corner so if you're midscreen and have no bars (you're f*£%@#) so people can keep malding all they want i once saw someone comment on an mk video don't remember what the title was but they were arguing for sub to be nerfed and it's incredibly annoying because sub is definetly the most misunderstood character in the game. btw when you said that you haven't played the game in weeks im right there with you, haven't played the game in at least a month because im just sick of the balancing and constant kameo spam to keep everything safe on block its just down right cheesy

I don’t like the idea of being forced to play a specific Kameo to compete against higher level players. Sub Zero should be able to play with anyone because he historically has one of the strongest kits. Why does his Klone have a cooldown? Why doesn’t his ice ball combo with any string? Why does he have damage scaling that is simply ridiculous? (You can use meter or longer combos and get less damage 😒)

So I learn everything from scratch, don't look at the Move list and I learn people's tendencies . Also use spacing and counter (poking grabbing and plus frame combos. And I don't really know how to play I just learned the fundamentals off of people's bad habits

mr apchem you did it sub is getting buffed Sub-Zero Buffs and Changes here is a list of possible changes - Triple Clone recovers faster - Slide now side switches without bar - Allows for Ambush Kameo follow up - Can freeze more than once now - Sareena and Sonya maybe his best now sareena can now create meter and increase damage here is a list of possible changes

Being able to spam ice klone when ever like MKX was down right busted AND highly annoying to fight. This 5 second cool down actually makes sense. Cuz even with the klone cool down, klone is still annoying to deal with. Just because it’s not as annoying to deal with as it was in MKX or whatever, doesn’t make it not annoying in mk1. Sub-zero has THE best D1 in the game also. The downplaying of sub-zero is all because of Sikander. Sub-zero is NOT trash. Nor is he very good. He’s mid tier. I’d put him next to reptile, Shang, noob. That level of character

Yes, MK1 Sub's 5-second cooldown on Klone does indeed make sense. Yet, it still didn't prevent people from whining about Sub-Zero and claiming that he's still "spamming Klone". The fact is due to Klone, Sub-Zero directly negates the way that most people want to fight and stops them right in their tracks, which irritates them because they don't want to think before they fight. Sikander isn't all the way wrong - Sub-Zero only becomes decent once he has Khameleon paired with him. Without her, he is indeed one of the worst characters in the game, which is why he needed to be buffed. As annoying as Klone might be to deal with, many characters can outright blow Sub up for doing it, some with full combos; and every character can spend meter on a read and punish him for it, which is fine.
