To Phoenix remote. We have to admit that these videos are basically what it tells you in the Midget Renovation Manual that most of have bought, read and failed to understand. Men are generally big-headed and think they can do everything. But I'm honest enough to say that I have learned a few things I can do myself, but know there are many things I could start but would end up a cock-up through my lack of experience. It shows me what to look for in a repair, what to ask for and how important it is to find a mechanic who does body work and finally how important trust in that person is ... Which you'll discover years later when either your car falls apart or chuggs on merilly down the road.

By far the worst area on Midgets to repair. If I’d have known that, or seen this video before I started mine, I wouldn’t have bothered. Still, all done now. Great series. Keep it up.

Thanks for a fascinating video. I don't know enough about this, hence the question. If you get an entire panel, why can't you cut out the old one and weld in the entire new one, rather than cut up the new one and patch it in?

You can of course remove the entire panel, and in some cases I would do this. My preference is to retain as much of the original body as possible, only removing enough to get rid of the rust. It's certainly an odd feeling chopping up an expensive heritage panel, but removing the entire rear bulkhead is an invasive process and would cause unnecessary disturbance to the rest of the rear.
