Mr.Rob, nice to meet you. It was very helpful. thank you. I'm looking forward to the completion of MIDGET's restoration. I'm running MIDGET1500 in Japan. I'm always repairing some part. I will use this as a reference in the future. So you'll excuse me.

Red under the green looks like primer in the door portion. Thanks for these videos. Makes me want to send some love towards my 62 thats been sitting a long time.

After working on this car for awhile now, you are correct the red if primer. Oh a 62…you need to get started on that! I would love to see some pictures. Email me at robsrestogarage@gmail.com

Good stuff. I’m starting restoration on a 66 to give to my granddaughter to drive in high school. This kind of content will be invaluable for me. I got the 66 along with a 76 that I could use as a parts car. The 66 has no engine or trans but is quite straight and relatively rust free. My plan as of now is to use the power train from the 76. 1500cc.

That was a long time ago. I will have to go back and watch the video when I go to put it all back together

@@robsrestorationgarage no worries Rob. My comment was to help direct myself (and others) to the door stuff, since that was your video title. In the start of this video you disassemble the wipers and a couple of other items but since I’m in the assembly stage (and its been a long time for me too), I wanted to be able to quickly reference this or that. Thanks for the videos! Keep up the great work! Very impressive how much you’ve brought that car back. I would have found another one not so far gone. Good luck and thanks again.

Gotcha. I appreciate that. My skills in video making are about like my skills in body work - very amateur. Thanks for watching.

Nice progress on the Midget. The intro to your video, however, has some issues with the camera. As far as the paint goes, could the red be a primer coat under the green? Getting those doors apart looks like a lot of fussy and frustrating work. I'm guessing putting them back together will be even worse. Thanks for the videos and keep 'em coming.

Yeah the first part of the video was glitchy for some reason. Sometimes it was fine during editing but then sometimes not. I hadn’t thought about primer, that is a good point. And you are right getting all of it back together will be crazy.

Based on what I am seeing as I strip off paint, you were right the red paint is the primer.

I think they used to use red-oxide primer

You are exactly right. Once I got into the car I realized the primer was red. The original color of the car was BR Green. Someone at some point repainted the car maroon. (Not a very good paint job either)
