Great video, Doug...though I must say I had my doubts at the beginning that it was going to fit correctly. In the past I've used spray glue but this Weldwood product looks like it's much easier to work with....thanks!

What a brilliant and informative set of video's. These will really help me when I come to the trimming of my MGTF replica project. Kind regards from Paul at 48 Spokes (UK)

Should you use a fibre board strip and bifurcated rivets where the arch trim meets the floor angle iron ?

Yes. Our part # SUN040, $5.40 if you don't have it.

@@derekfoster6320 Thanks Derek. Doug is usually keen on originality, any reason why he did not fit this item in the video ?

It's already in there if i remember correctly.

Are you only using the contact cement on top of the foam padding? I thought it should be applied to both surfaces, but doing that could cause the vinyl to stick to itself during installation.
@derekfoster63207 жыл бұрын
No, just the foam side. As we showed, when you get a little off, or a large bubble, you will need to lift the vinyl up and if it has too much glue you wont be able to pull it up. It will be very difficult and take chunks of the foam up with it.

I am confused about the " fibre board strip and bifurcated rivets"; where and why is that part?
@derekfoster6320 Жыл бұрын
That was the original method of install. It would allow you to use tach nails. If you are using the modern foam and contact cement, you don't need the fiber board.

@@derekfoster6320 Okay, thanks. That video sure helped but I still couldn't get it as smooth as Doug.

I suppose it's a bit late to say this, but you have the left hand seat adjuster on the right side of the car. The one in the Moss catalog is also wrong.

It's an early car. On the early cars the brackets are reversed. Thanks for looking out though.
