MIB2 Technisat FTP filesystem access over WLAN (VW Seat Skoda)

How to directly access #MIB2 filesystem in Technisat unit, over #FTP, with a WiFi connection. This will let you browse system files and customize some elements of the Infotainment system in your car. You can modify skins, system sounds, backup FEC/SWaP files, alter some of the system configuration files, and more.
ℹ️ Requirements
MIB2 Standard unit, made by #Technisat, with GPS navigation and WLAN/WiFi, software not higher than 04xx.
Notebook with FTP client.
Doesn't matter if you have VW (Golf MK7, Passat B8, Polo), Seat (Leon 5F) or Skoda (Octavia 5E) or other VAG car. MIB2 Standard system by Technisat underneath is the same.
🛠 Procedure
1. Make sure that you have enabled developer mode and installed MIB2 STD Toolbox.
2. Create hotspot from the MIB2 Setup screen.
3. Enter MIB2 STD Toolbox, go to network page, and enable FTP access.
4. Connect your notebook with the MIB2 WiFi network
5. Open an FTP app, enter connection details (server: 192.168.2.1, login: root, password: root)
6. Browse the file system, create backup before changing anything.
7. Press and hold volume knob for 10 seconds to reboot MIB2.

Just awesome stuff...did you ever stumbled on some sound file related to startup chime? or is that integrated in the cluster? New Audis seem to play the beautiful entry sound trough the infotainment's sound system and sounds great.

Thank you for the demo. Juste one question : Is it mandatory to fix the IP address of the laptop (like in the Delphi unit for the telnet access), and if so, wich is the right address ? THX

If I'm correct: I believe you need a fixed address, because there's no DHCP server over there that would assign IPs.

Hi, I can’t figure it out, maybe you can explain. VW E-golf was a firmware for MHI2_ER_VWG11_S2125_1 (MU0343), updated to the latest version of MHI2_ER_VWG11_K3342(MU1427). Now in the menu WLAN settings I have only mobile hotspot, WLAN is missing

This tool can be very helpful while doing it, but it will not patch the system for you.

Dude help me out im losing my mind. I have a leon 5f with MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0480T. I see there are a convert from P04xxT to p0515T. How can i do this ? i have no nav. I hear this is dangerous ? so is this a good idea ?. I also have 1 more question. I try to install toolbox but i can't click start update bc it shows no new updates for the car i think. I already activated developere mode. But since i have no navi the toolbox Readme.txt says i have to do this updat threw console/telnet ? how do i do this ?

Most likely your unit (Seat with H4x hardware) is not supported by Toolbox. Stay at P0480T.

You need to convert the system from US firmware.

yes. You need to flash the unit with new software. But there's variant protection so you will have to patch the unit first to allow it to install software from a different region.
