Right, if the changes are too subtle most fans will neither see them, and hence not appreciate them. Discipline/motivation, accountability and chemistry is their real problem. The first two can be addressed. The 3rd and most important one is the by product of the first two. Money comes in 4th but wont win unless u have the the other 3. Got it !!??

As long as Cashman is still the GM and Boone is still the manager I won't be returning to Yankee Stadium next year or watch their games on YES. I'm been a loyal fan for 20 years but I am so done with this team! And no signing Bellinger won't change anything maybe a Soto or Ohtani will but what we really need is developing our own players like we did with the Core Four.

Very informative news. I have it from a good source that the primary area of focus was the following: Raise the price of a hotdog from $9.00 to $13.00, Coke from $6.00-$8.50, beer from $12.00 to $14.80, popcorn from $5.00 to $ 7.25, parking from $25.00 to $40.00. My point, as long as we the fans continue to pack the game and pay ridiculous amounts of money nothing will change; it’s all about the bottom line for Hal. As a lifelong Yankees fan that resides in Atlanta, At least I could watch quality baseball, something that was absent in the Bronx this year. I have decided to cancel my MLB subscription until either Cash or Boone are removed from their current position.

@@Landis_Grant very good point. I spent 26 years in the United States Marine Corps. Something that I learned through out my career is that organizations are a reflection of their leadership. Hal, is not a fiery type of individual, Boone is the same, unless you are Laz Diaz. My point is that this type of carefree mindset trickles down to other parts of the organization. For the past years the team has been playing with no intensity, and expect to win because of their the Yankees. In closing, a restructuring needs to take place and a careful selection of leadership needs to be made. I’m saddened on how this franchise has been stripped, to now becoming the doormat of the AL east. PS I have been a Yankees fan since the days of Bobby Richardson, Clete Boyers, Tommy Tresh, my point; I’ve been around this team forever.

They missed out on Harper, Machado, Gausman, Wheeler, JD Martinez, Freeman, Realmuto for Donaldson, Rodon, Stanton and so on. Who made those decisions? If the nerds made those, Cashman abandoned his duty. If Cashmand made decisions, it is his fault. It is about the ability to evaluate talents. And Cashman does not have it. Why is it so difficult to understand? Look at the second most expensive line up of Yankees. It is absolutely horribel. He wasted Hal's money .

I read the article containing Hal's recap of the meetings right before watching this. As I read his comments about "subtle" changes and 'not necessarily' firing personnel, I laughed, closed the article, and prepared myself for another year of almost entirely ignoring the team. Hal is such a weak, weak owner. A shame, but that's that. By way of contrast, the Astros won the World Series last year - and proceeded to not bring their GM back. That's right, even though they *won.* That's the kind of thing serious organizations are prepared to do when they feel it's in the team's best interests. They understand the basic truth that personnel is personnel - not family that must be kept forever. Must be nice.

If a new manager can get accountability and get 2-10% more out of most every player. That is huge... HUGE. If the players cannot be moved getting more outta the players will be key. These guys most of them maybe not Stanton he just doesn't seem capable of playing , maybe not Cole, or Judge those 2 are your Cy young and would be MVP again if not injured for Judge. This is what Firing Boone could bring. He could bring better play improve Torres defense, better management of the bullpen, better management of contact hitters working with guys to be more efficient getting on base. Have a coach that demands guys work harder and get in better shape overall to help with avoiding injuries. This is what a new manager could bring. It also could change the lackluster play we have seen constantly under Boone. Having a manager that will actually come out and say your mistakes makes me the manager at fault and could cost me my job. A manager that won't tolerate sloppy play sets the tone for the team. Changing a manager can do a lot. Is Boone the only thing that needs changed NO. Can Boone Change his ways and how he manages from what I've heard he's been encouraged to be tougher. Can he be who knows only Boone knows that answer. My guess is Boone will be gone next season if not. Either he'll be let go at about mid season if the team struggles continue or he'll be let go at seasons end basically not resigned. If I'm Hal I'm telling the players you all here say you love playing for Boone. OK if you want to play for Boone then it's time to step up for him next season cause he's not gonna be the manager if there is the level of play isn't improved next season. Again is Boone the only Problem no but he is definitely 1 problem. Cashman passing on players to sign players like Stanton, Donaldson, Hicks, and now Rodan. Players that everyone knew had high risk and bad track records of issues when they was young. Now they are 33-38+ in age. And no value for the dollars spent no ways to trade etc etc. Even with Torres giving him arbitration for years only raised his salary. Should have given him a contract back a few years ago for 10-12mil instead of what will cost now 15-20mil. Which is Torres does not play at a high level nobody will want to consider trading for him in the future if he's a 20mil player that bats .230 with down power numbers and inconsistent defense. Analytics does need to be changed or thrown out the door is there is any truth to Ben Ruta comments. Only the Yankees organization knows the truth on that. But all seriousness if True then a completely new approach on analytics should be considered for next season. Sorry for the long post thanks for reading 🙏 I could say tons more but I've said enough

It wouldn't matter. Hal is the problem. He'll just replace him with another analytics clown. Hal cares more about profits than he does winning. Don't let the payroll fool you. The Yankees are at the bottom of the league, percentage wise, when it comes to payroll to revenue. In 2009(their last title) they spent over 70 percent of revenue on payroll. In 2021, they were dead last in baseball, with a little over 30 percent

@ridgemanron Cashman has never been a great baseball mind. I, literally, cringe every time I hear him get credit for winning 4 world championships. His first 3 were won by a core built by Gene Michael and Bob Watson. The last one and the last time the Yankees made the World Series was when they spent the economy of a small country on CC, AJ and Tex. The list of Cashman's failures far exceed his successes. The only reason the Yankees have been winning around 100 games a year(before this year) is that they feasted on what was, until recently, the weakest division in baseball. Once they got to the playoffs against real teams, they got exposed. Now that the Rays, O's and Blue Jay's are legit teams, the Yankees are where they belong: at the bottom of the division.

Here's an idea, get a group of former GM's, execs, and managers, and ask them what they would do, what they would do differently, and what the plan moving forward would be to prevent from this happening again. The amount of reliance on analytics is a problems. How players are rested, for example, seems to be analytically driven, but players are given days off when it doesn't make sense. A different line-up everyday is problematic. All of these problems go away if the Yankees were able to score some runs, which I believe is the biggest problem they have, snd when you watch guys 1-9 swinging for the seats every turn to the plate, you begin to understand that the approach is a big part of why this offense is so inconsistent. Presumably, this approach is analytically driven. Higher batting averages, fewer strike outs, more walks, and the ability to read the situation and adjust to it would go a long way. How many times this year did we see men in scoring position stranded with nothing to show for it? Get the batting averages up above .270 and watch what will happen. Tons of SOLO home runs are not enough. You needs rallies where runs are scored in bunches and guys up and down the line-up are joining in on the party.

Michael, Since the beginning I’ve been carefully watching Anthony Volpe(instinctively(rarely wrong when I feel it-really) I feel he will be a really fine ballplayer(regardless of obp). I noticed, early in the season, he was getting a lot of walks and steals(then Aaron Judge said everyone should be more aggressive). There is still a problem with outside pitches(and recognition). He could also have a little less chicken parm. However, I think Volpe and Wells would do much better, if the team had a couple of strong lefty bats(less pressure on them). I also think Stanton could then bat lower. Hopefully some additions will be made. Great show.

How does his business make money if he runs those franchises like he operates the Yankees? Friendship in a business should never be part of his decisions.

You can’t compare his other business ventures to the Yankees. The team could continue being this bad forever and the Yankees will still be well into profit.

Sign the Japanese Pitcher and Bellinger and work out a trade for Soto. You're going to have to give up some of your blue chip prospects, but prospects are almost never guarantee, Jasson Dominguez comes back in late May, maybe June and hope Volpe improves on his average and OBP. Do they keep Oswald Peraza back and give him 3B, tell him it's his position to lose in Spring Training and hopefully more than half of their starters aren't out for the season.

Being a good guy isn’t a quality I demand of a coach or GM. I haven’t watched for two seasons. In person or on tv. I won’t be back until BOOne is gone. I will NEVER support this team with a single red cent until they appear to care half as much as I do about the team.

I would like to see Jeter take over for Cashman. Jeter didn’t have the funds in Miami . I think he would do a great job and how fitting Jeter replacing Cashman . I really have gone to really dislike Kay over the years and I used to love listening to him but now he is full of himself

You got that right ! I used to like him back when he first started because he was like one of us a fan who got his dream . But now he is right and fans are stupid. The problem about him being right is the Yankees are a mess under cashman and Kay is too big of a kiss a$$ to admit that
