The truckers & convoy are not honking or loud at night. The person you heard on the radio was lying.
@tattooman36032 жыл бұрын
We had the freedom convoy, in a smaller version, drive through my city. The honking lasted for hours, and YES it was annoying, but it was for my benefit. My kids complained about it, and tried to denegrate the truckers, at which point I set them straight. Here were people willing to spend large amounts of money and time, to protest an unjust action by the government, that interrupted their ability to provide for their families' needs, and they were peacefully (other than some noise) protesting for ALL of us. I told them if I didn't work, then they didn't get a roof over their head, food heat, etc, and that they would starve or freeze to death, so thank the truckers for being willing to do this for them. A little discomfort was worth it to ensure they could still get all those things. After explained like that, they understood it, until the media went nuts and lied and labeled the truckers. Then I re-explained it. Trudeau could have, and SHOULD have met with a small delegation of the truckers to find out what they wanted, and then work with them. Had he done so, he would have looked better, the Canadian common worker would have realized our government IS willing to talk and meet with us, and it likely would have decreased the size and the length of the protest. Instead, he proved himself to be a tyrannical authoritarian, willing to size children, bank accounts, funding, and openly lie about the nature of the protest and the people. Seizing bank account prevented some of the truckers from even being able to leave when they were willing to do so. Trudeau has very little common sense, less intelligence, and next to no qualities that a leader should have. Case in point: holding an interview in french, where he painted the truckers as ra cists, fas cists, and mysogyn ists, only to lie to the press later saying he never said those things, when so many people in Canada speak both English and French.

Re: the guy that couldn't sleep for 5 days because of honking. Similar to Michael, I don't believe this guy. After that many days, one falls asleep no matter the noise. I remember spending the weekend at the motorcycle meet up and the organisers had a brilliant idea that it would be fine if people had just put their bikes next to their tents. The result? Entire night of enduro bikes riding between the tents, drunk guys cranking their sport bikes' engines to the cut off, and so on. Fun fact: The Viet Cong did more to end Pol Pot's genocide than the West did. Granted, the Viet Cong's efforts to do so ended up not being effective, but they at least tried. Pretty much as soon as the North Vietnamese took Saigon they declared war against Cambodia and invaded because a ton of the people the Khmer Rouge were murdering were ethnic Vietnamese, and ethnic loyalties were (and still are) of primary importance, even to the Vietnamese Communist Party.
@zinjanthropus3222 жыл бұрын
Vietnam's Vietnam.
@matrix35092 жыл бұрын
Also, one of the main reasons why their efforts ended up being in vain was because shortly after the Vietnamese crossed the Cambodian border, China declared war on Vietnam and counter-invaded Vietnam from the north. It was a purely punitive invasion designed to punish Vietnam for interfering with China's Cambodian allies. The Chinese captured like 3 towns in North Vietnam, held them for a while, then promptly retreated back across the Chinese border while the Vietnamese were scrambling to bring their forces back from Cambodia to defend their own territory. This was the primary reason why the US's fears of a "domino effect" of communism was completely bullshit. The very second America's presence in Southeast Asia was gone, every single one of these regional powers turned on each other because of millennia old ethnic hatreds. China's material support for Vietnam dried up and they were at each other throats in the blink of an eye. Even though the Communist Party is still technically in charge in Vietnam to this day, they are close allies with the US government, the economy is 100% capitalist, and they still despise the Chinese intensely.

@@matrix3509 I dont know about that. Vietnam won the Vietnam War in 1975. They were forced into Cambodia in late 78, a whole 3 years later. Id argue that Vietnam took Cambodia and sent the KR into exile, installing their own puppet Hun Sen. So they won that one and kept control for quite a while. Vietnams problem was that they were broke. But they defeated China in North Vietnam with just women and elderly farmers. China always lies about their aims and goals etc. but they got their arses kicked, were sent back to China and the Viets didnt even need to send their own main forces back to do it. The Domino Effect was correct but it was Soviet allied Domino or a Chinese controlled Domino. One or the other. Michael Malice is the only guy who can make the fantasy world of harmonious anarchy sound possible. Love Michael but it’s not gonna happen lol
@johncassell33622 жыл бұрын
It's not supposed to be harmonious, it's freedom. Anarchist aren't afraid of losing government protection. They choose the dangers of freedom. It's not a fantasy, it's just not appealing to cowards, there's nothing unfeasible about his beliefs
@GimbalLocksOnly2 жыл бұрын
The real fantasy here is the inverse of your statement. How the fuck is government harmonious? Conceptually and ideologically? What is harmonious about whats happening? What the fuck is harmonious about your tax dollars going into bombing the third world? What is harmonious about "governments"track record and history? What is harmonious about policy through lobbying? The only reason people arent at their throats is because "government" and law and order? Humanity MUST be controlled and governed or else its all chaos? Turn on the TV, watch your football and repeat after me: I am free. Everything is fine. Big brother loves me. In god we trust. Go outside more. Talk to people. The working class truly has almost EVERYTHING in common.

@@johncassell3362 Its not that anarchists prefer freedom over safety, its just that they understand how important freedom of choice is for one's own safety. Like choosing the best defense for you or any kind of service, the more important it is the less desirable it is to leave it to some authority.

The statue of the "one-legged man" as you say, is Terry Fox, a Canadian icon who had cancer and was running across Canada to raise money.

@@derosa1989 " derosa1989 4 hours ago no need for that kind of effort today, just start a gofundme, set up the hot tube and bouncy castle and chill with the bros." - No idea what you are saying here, or what your point is. - One is someone who was raising money for cancer many decades ago. - You imply that the Freedom Convoy doesn't have 'that kind of effort'. But with tens of thousands of truckers, farmers, cowboys, healthcare workers, and many many other supporters all across Canada at multiple protest spots, over many weeks, I'd say a lot of effort has been shown.

San Antonio: Don't forget that the city has two Alamos: the original, and the movie set, walking distance from the big hotels by the river.
@DeadlyPlatypus2 жыл бұрын
Huh. I didn't realize there was one there just for filming. While I lived in West Texas, we visited San Antonio and I couldn't figure out how *anyone* got the pictures/videos of the Alamo that they did...it's right in the *middle* of everything. I figured it was tricky angles and airbrushing. This makes more sense.

Canadian athletes were told to only take burner phones. But interestingly we have a mental health app available to us that i "accidentally" downloaded when i was trying to download an app to follow the freedom convoy. Still have no idea how it could have happened as there was no similarity in the name. I never opened it and instinctively deleted it but now you have me wondering.

On Whoopi, I think Michael is wrong. She wasn't saying "the [Big H] was bigger than just racism". She was echoing the current CRT thinking that states that whites are the only race on the planet that cannot experience racism. Jews are white, the "Big H" was white on white violence, therefore not racism. Like most CRT thinkers, she separates the world into two camps. White and non-white. And only the non-white can experience racism (and again, Jews are white). But no, I don't think she was being anti-Jewish (except that she's anti-white).

2 motives for being a leader: 1. ego gratification: you possess a perverse desire to control resources and people 2. necessity: you reluctantly feel forced to take a leadership position by circumstance George Washington was of type 2. Every politician who runs for office during peaceful times amid stable economies is of type 1. The only type of people who run for office without feeling forced to do so are those who desire to control others. This is why great leaders are rare -- the motive for great leaders to arise is nonexistent during peacetime, but the motive for Machiavellian personalities to seek power is ever present in all times. This is why weak men rule in good times and why those weak men yield the downward spiral of bad times. This is why strong men of virtue only arise to leadership during bad times -- because they detest the dirty work of politics so they would've avoided it if possible. My guess is that this is a feature of our species, not a bug. It ensures genetic churn and prevents human monocultures from forming and becoming less adaptable. Dynastic reigns become literally inbred as the social mobility is nonexistent and the various classes don't interbreed. The most inbreeding occurs at the level of the caste with the fewest members. This doesn't serve the species in the least. This is also why cheating occurs among humans... genetic diversity is more important than any single form of human culture. No group of humans survives if it remains inbred. This cycle will continue forever until those who rule possess the proper wisdom and motive to do so.

As an ukrainian I was delighted to see that Michael generally got Ukraine situation right, despite that he doesn't follow it closely. Also he's right about US military companies and political leverage BUT! The correction I would add - that western countries shouldn't believe our president about this situation. He was a very weak leader from the beginning, also when he ran for the chair he didn't insist on Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty at all, he just avoided all questions about Crimea annexation and Russian direct interference in Eastern Ukraine. His literal quote was "Let's meet in the middle" that meant he was ready to make concessions to Russia and sacrifice some of Ukraine's key interests

40:00 I don't agree that people are dropping the woke stuff. I never met very many woke people to begin with. Wokeness is something that never extends beyond corporate culture or a few Sociology classes. I'm Libertarian-Left and know plenty of Progressives. While they often support LGBT rights, most try not to be obnoxious about it. Just my perspective, but I think wokeness was nothing more than a culture war issue. I just want the culture war to be over with since I think it's making both sides stupid.
