But that is just me having spend so much time on rome

People need to stop bitching about the UI being the worst thing ever when there are far worse in the series like Rome 2's UI. Not to mention only a few units in the Remastered look worse, the rest look as good if not better, especially in BI. The Remaster is still far better than half-assed overpriced DLCs like TOB or Troyhammer just for the modding limits being unlocked.

The only problem for me with warhammer 1 and 2 are the siege battles. compared to previous titles it was not good.

and the lack of naval battles, especially after adding the Vampire coast you'd think that would be a big incentive to make naval battles a thing, though admittedly some factions may end up OP and really feel like rise and base shogun 2 navies vs fall of the samurai navies compared to others.

My first game was the dynasty warriors 4 hyper, i ever played, and when could remember the game as a 15 years old, i found out there is another pc version for the game (It was kinda only console multiple series) DW8XL i played it, loved it again (lu bu was much weaker than in the 4) and when i seen oversimplified video and heard about TWTK i was hyped, but i miss most of the crucial events (starting dates) like battle of chibi (red cliff), the fan castle and the hefei fight, these were so cruical for each "kingdom" that in the 8 its the deciding point, like if the fan castle was not lost to wu, guan yu might have been alive for more time helping his brothers (wich is unfortune that zhang fei died by his own man and liu bei recived the news at the same time)

People love to hate Rome 2, but fact is its current version is a BEAST, the game delivers and it delivers hard. And that is without even mentioning the plethora of mods there are for it, with DEI making the game stand on a whole different level than any of the rest. Warhammer is also good, if you don't like fantasy dont play it, but dont say its bad just because your ass doesn't like fantasy.

Can't really complain about Troy, considering how I got it for free on Epic, hehe. A very accurate ranking. Attila and Three Kingdoms needed a bit more post launch support, while Rome 2 despite rocky start is actually pretty good now. Rome Remastered is also nice, but I tinkered with UI mod to improve it.

Now before i get fucked from all sides by historical fans i want to say that i will only agree attila is one of the best games ca did when it comes to sieges(when you are the defender) and battles+variety of units. Now comes the shit part: Rome 2 and troy are absolutely shit when it comes to battles(haven't played troy in a while so maybe i'm clueless on that one but i hardly believe they changed the difficulty on troy because it's super fun to have hard melee cheats on ai in a game that's focused mostly on melee;again maybe i'm wrong since a long time has passed)but i'm certain rome 2 battles are killing me inside(the only good thing about rome 2 are the satisfying phalanx but that's it)politics system too. Basically rome 2 is budget attila. People probably only like the game because of the time period which is cool but don't delude yourselves into thinking it's good because of the era. I can't be bothered to go deeper like hating ca for making wh2 and betraying dumb fucks. So much shit...

Only real problem I have with the Warhammer titles is that it makes it hard for me to go back to Historical ones. The unit variety and the addition of monsters, flyers, and wizards has me spoilt. I'd be watching the chokepoint slugfest on a siege map and be thinking "I'd sure love some Warp Lightning right now".

shogun and medieval were great for their time, but don't hold up as well as later entries have. rome was the intro for most total war players, and will always hold a special place. still fun to play. Medieval 2 was slightly better than rome gameplay wise, but less interesting and definitely the early stage of the rock/paper/scissors era unit roster trend. shogun 2 had a great style, amazing graphics for the time, and the best gameplay to that point... but the unit roster was way too basic and similar between factions (until fall of the samurai came out, which fixed all that. introduced its own issues, but still better than faction unique units just being standard units with a slight buff lol). empire was fun, napoleon was better. both suffered from technical limitations of the time. i would love to see empire 2. Rome 2 was one of my favorites, but was quickly outmatched by Attila for me. never bothered with 3 kingdoms or troy. warhammer was cool. warhammer 2 was better. haven't got around to 3 yet, but i don't expect any surprises...

It's not a different formula of gameplay, each Nation/Faction has its own Nation/Faction traits, and it still plays like Total War. Whereas with AC, the gameplay formula itself changed while still retaining the name AC. It's not like a Total War fan has no idea what they're getting into either, It's called Total War: W A R H A M M E R
