@Wheeler63 Chrysler still makes good trucks and SUVs their cars are the only ones affected by the Fiat bug. I use to work for them testing pre production vehicles. Never seemed to have many issues with the V8s and V6s but a ton with the smaller fiat engines. The sparks were probably from the dirt cheap DetroitAxel pads and rotors. It clearly works well given that it generated enough friction to make sparks.

@Wheeler63 Chrysler didn't combine with Fiat to make FCA until 2014 and only became Stellantis after joining Peugeot just last year. This body style for the Durango had a face lift in 2011 and the chassis design was released in 2009. Brake fade is caused by the brakes heating up. If the brakes heat up that means they are working as intended. The only way to counter brake fade is to use better material for pads and rotors. A lot of people don't use the best quality or OEM replacements.

Can't pit over 40MPH. There's a very good reason for this. Imagine if they'd pulled a pit when he was doing 120 on I-96. The Durango could've gone into oncoming lanes after flipping, meaning no control. there are so many winding twisting roads with hills, especially in the Upper Peninsula where a pit at 60 could be disasterous for oncoming traffic.

MSP has a much more restrictive PIT policy. I believe they can’t put over 50 mph which is like a lot of agencies. I personally like the Georgia/Arkansas idea of shouldn’t have run and the consequences will be what they are, but politicians gonna politician. At least they chase unlike Illinois.
