I have custom inserts but my problem is they tend to slam my foot forward and my little toe rub's up against the other one causing another problem?????
@freethebirds35782 жыл бұрын
I tried the inexpensive soft orthotics; they didn't work for me. I went with more expensive ones from Spenco, and they worked ok. But they didn't last long; I'm not slender and the Spencos lost their shape in a short time. I was at a drugstore's "As Seen on TV" section and saw WalkFit orthotics. I was in enough pain to try them. They are much harder than cheaper ones, and had different inserts for the arch. But they are solid, so the arch and other curves won't flatten out with use. I used the highest arch and after a very short time getting used to them, the Plantar Fasciitis was not a problem anymore. I bought a 2nd pair of WalkFit and was always bought shoes that could have an orthotic in them. The sad part of the story is that WalkFit changed their product to something much softer and not suited to heavier people. I'm wondering if I need to go to one of the custom orthotic stores and spending hundreds on those, because the WalkFit insoles are at least 10 years old and I'm having problems with Plantar Fasciitis again.

I've tried multiple inserts and orthotics, but Foot Levelers has worked the best for me. Not 100% sure of the exact difference between the orthotics, but some were ridged, which were very uncomfortable and didn't work at all. Foot Levelers are flexible and very comfortable, but after 30 days of wearing them, they got rid of my knee pain I had been experiencing from a soccer injury for years. My knee pain was debilitating and was surprised it went away within a month. I've now been wearing Foot Levelers orthotics for over 6 years.

Such good advice from this foot doctor. I can confirm from years of flat feet and ridged big toe joint and terrible pain. Best support and ease of pain was eventually from made to measure orthotics or insoles. Well worth taking time to get a good Podiatrist and take time to get used to the right insoles / orthotics for you. Also ankle / leg strap at night has been hugely beneficial.

I have plantar fasciitis caused by having flat feet. My doctor started me on an over the counter orthotic with dynamic arch support and that was a great start but only helped the situation a little. My Doctor then moved me to a custom orthotic with a solid arch and I love it. I am able to jog 10 miles and walk nearly 30 miles a week and my foot problems are over. Finding stability running shoes is easy. finding a boot with a flat footbed to put my orthotic or a dress shoe with stability features and a flat footbed is pretty difficult.
@DrTomBiernacki Жыл бұрын
Glenn, we appreciate you! I am happy to hear that you found your doctor that gives you attention and help that you deserve. You are correct in your experience that it is relatively easier to find running and walking shoes that could be modified to your needs. Boots and dress shoes usually are constructed more conservatively with arch support built-in as part of insole. This design standard makes removal of original insole with arch support very difficult and often leads to destruction of shoes itself. Hopefully, industrial shoemakers will notice the needs of people with flat feet and in near future will respond to demand by production of shoes with option for replacement and modification of insoles. If possible, we would appreciate a quick review from you; these make a HUGE difference to us! g.page/r/CZWo3fJqJrVpEBM/review Thanks again for watching! All the best to you Glenn!

My arches never developed as a child. Back in the day I had to wear awful shoes with "cookie pads" in them as arch supports. I remember getting my first pair of tennis shoes that could have supports. Many years latter my tendons hurt more then ever, my feet ache all the time, my knees are popping when I walk it just sucks. I have seen so much on the internet about arch supports building an arch. Use this arch support use that one. The one thing I have not seen addressed is people who has arches that never undeveloped. Always about people who's arches fell sometime during life. What is it like to have any kind of arch?
@Demon09-_-2 жыл бұрын
No one every replied but this is pretty late. Most kids form there arches around 2-3 +- a few years. Are your feet totally flat or does the arch only fall once any weight is on it? If they fall when weight is on it then it's alot easier to try and support if it's an out and out flat foot you may not want to try and add to much arch

I shared a few weeks ago maybe a month ago my orthotics which are made by Samurai called the Ninja. They immediately helped but over weeks of wearing them without doing any of the other ideas mentioned in these videos, I again I'm seeing that I still have pain. Absolutely, I think that is the main point that the softer less corrective ones are a great initial choice to get used to, and for some people it is enough to fix their problem. But as most people get more sore, more stiff they usually need more!

What are good exercises for increasing flexibility with flat feet? Right now I can’t even stand on my toes without holding on to something.
@TheKansasfan15 ай бұрын
This is a good video. However, as a board certified Pedorthist, he is incorrect in saying that the “single unifying factor is flat feet”. 30-35 % of my cases are high arches which are way more difficult to treat and cannot effectively be treated with an off the shelf orthotic in most cases. A rigid flat foot is also difficult. Many times the $12.00 orthotic (almost impossible to find) are Made to last 30-60 days by the fabricators. When I have a patient who is on the cusp of whether to go custom or not, I always recommend the OTC bit a good OTC NOT a $20-30 one. I only recommend the less expensive for somebody that has no foot pain but just wants some support or cushioning. A flimsy orthotic is not an orthotic but just an insole. He is right, when there is minimal pathology, custom isn’t usually necessary. However, I refer to the different as a a pair of prescription glasses versus “readers” you would find at the drug store. I then leave it up to them to make that decision with no influence either way. I never play u less the patient absolutely needs custom. Most people will select a custom if budget allows and our fabrication techniques now allow for a lower cost custom product, not $400.
