Microbiology at NDSU: Disc Diffusion Assay

The Microbiological Science Department at NDSU offers courses and other learning opportunities in many dynamic fields. These disciplines include microbiology, bacteriology, epidemiology, fungal biology, immunology, molecular biology, parasitology, and virology. In this video, Autumn Kraft, a graduate student in the Micro Department, shows us how to properly perform the disc diffusion assay in the laboratory. This test is important for testing the antibiotic resistance of bacteria. This skills is particularly useful to students who are interested in pursuing a research career in health care.
