I could get away with 4 GB Ram windows 10. I only use it to open two tabs of spreadsheet on google sheets. I shut down any background task. Usually got around 70-80% while doing my job. Having said that. I've heard windows 11 standby ram usage is even higher than windows 10, so I'm not sure how 4 GB windows 11 laptop could work out.

I want to see longer reviews from this host of the show. I liked the insights he is bringing to this channel and the way they shot the whole video. Now a days people are too caught up in highlighting and showing effects in their videos. It’s harder to tell real life feel for consumers watching the videos who can’t hold the product.

I'm very excited for this refresh, the Surface Laptop Go is exactly the type of product I want. I want a quality build but the specs aren't too important because a laptop for me is just a glorified SSH client. So this is perfect for me, the keyboard is fantastic and the build is very sturdy and feels quality. Sure a 1080p display would be nice but it's not gonna make or break this for me.

I bought the 128gb Surface Laptop Go last year. The ssd is replaceable. Went on ebay, and purchased a 512gb ssd for $80. Much faster read and write speeds. Curious if this model can also be upgraded.

Did they fix the fan noise issue? I returned my version 1 because the fan spin up was rather frequent and LOUD! Hope they fixed it. Love the form factor!

I think it's a problem that only occurred for some people. My mom uses the Laptop Go 1 now and it's doesn't have that problem.

I don't know how Microsoft did the battery test, did they mean brightness and volume at medium settings? My Surface Laptop Go lasts on average around 4 hours (I do highest settings on brightness and volume).

I like the design of this laptop. I'd get the one featured in the video. My biggest gripes are no backlit keyboard and the intel processor (not only because its already dated). Microsoft should either put its own custom SOC in its surface devices, or partner with AMD. I'd stay away from intel machines at this point, (unless you're running Linux) as it looks like there's a definite shift coming, away from x86 architecture. I'd likely still recommend AMD, even for Linux users.

Linux is currently more ready for ARM devices than Windows. Most major distributions like Debian/Ubuntu, Fedora and Arch are available to install on ARM devices and you can compile most apps to run on ARM because they're open source...

I really really want to want a Surface device, especially as a student (I don't have much money). But, when I compare the portable surface devices to something like the M1 or M2 Macbook Air, I have to say that the Macbook Air just stands out as something worth saving for. What matters for someone like me is portability, reliability, and longevity. You are not getting longevity with 4gb of RAM and arguably, probably not 8gb either. The webcam is pretty disappointing especially given the pandemic is still very ongoing and many of us around the world are using Zoom for classes. In a modern device, we shouldn't be accepting anything less than 1080p. At this rate I'm getting the Macbook Air /w 16gb ram to last me through honours and PhD. Very expensive for me, but at least I know I won't have to buy another laptop any time soon.

Basically it has the PPI of a 15" 16:9 1080p display, but cropped to 12.4 inch 3:2 display. Which is also the equivalent to a 1080p 3:2 13" display PPI. Its a weird resolution but the pixels don't tell the whole story.

They also improved the touchpad. Before, your finger would stick on it when making small movements. Now it is smooth. But for $100-200 more you can get a Surface Laptop 4 which is much better.

1536 x 1024 at 12.4 inches screen equals to 149 PPI, which is more than enough for the laptop or PC. For you reference and comparison: + To be qualified as the FullHD, the screen needs to be at the 1620x1080, and this is 157 PPI, which are only 8 PPI better + Your 27'' Monitor with 2K screen is only at 109PPI + Bump it up to have the 27'' 4K screen, you will have 163PPI. So I don't know why this guy complaining a lot at the "NOT FULL HD" screen... hmmm.. interesting. Next time we will see him saying the apple watch - galaxy watch - and pixel watch. They're all have around 396x484 or 352x430 for the ~1.9 inches screen (which is not a full HD resolution also)

Dude for that price, just buy an older model hp/lenovo/asus whatever. 128gb is ridiculous. My friend bought a $700 lg gram with 512gb and 16gb ram. It's light as hell and mil 810g certified. Full port selection. Large battery. This Microsoft netbook is like apple tax without being apple. None of that coveted vertical integration and unique OS. The only thing going for it is that it looks nice.

Just get a used,refurbished,open box Surface Laptop 3 or 4 on eBay or Swappa if you really want a laptop made by Microsoft. If not, there's plenty of similar priced windows laptops like the Acer Swift 3,Asus Zenbook,HP Pavilion Aero, Dell Insipiron,etc.

Sorry. It's overpriced for what you get. There are many other laptops out there in that price range with at least 8GB of RAM. To have a laptop that doesn't have a full HD display is ridiculous in this day and age. I think the MacBook Air for $999.00 is worth the extra money. I'd save up for that over the Surface Go 2 for sure.

I'm NOT a hater, I'm just a realist. I do NOT trust the promoter, because they present only pros and nothing cons, because otherwise they would not receive their sponsorship. So, no one can convince me to pay a lot of money for an old grandmother i5 processor (from 10000 years ago 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂) a 4GB RAM and a 128 SSD. For that money there are other products just like that with a small diagonal of 13-14 inches, but with decent features and much cheaper. So why would I pay maybe 300 euros more for something inferior? What does Microsoft do? A big scam: selling extremely old products, just a little bit like facelift, at exorbitant prices.

This laptop is junk. Period. No backlit keyboard, 4 GB ram, bad port situation, no USB-C charging, no microsoft office suite( they never provided suite in India with any microsoft product). This product is NOT made for students from any angle. A chromebook would be preferred by any high school student. College students need a full-fledged laptop.
