We have that same Microwave and same issue - Stopped turning one day. Was about ready to rip it out and buy a new, better, one. Guess this saves me the hassle and extra cost, assuming it's the motor that's bad on ours. Thanks

Those synchronous motors can be taken apart. The low voltage one you have has plastic gears in it that could be broken or the shaft that goes through the magnet could be corroded and just needs cleaned and re-lubed.

Very interesting. I thought there might be a belt involved

I have this same microwave and I'm struggling to get the door off the hinges to clean some condensation streaks/stains between the glass panels. It's the same model as yours. When I try to lift the door up, there is resistance and the pins don't clear their holes. It looks like there is a black plastic piece below the top hinge on the door preventing me from being able to lift it straight up like other models (I've watched a lot of KZbin videos on this). Can you help me? Do I need to remove that piece, or that entire plastic frame, first - before attempting to lift the door off? Or am I just not giving it enough muscle?

Ossillascope is little bit of overkill don't yo think.?

Yes. You just need a simple VOM.

So I tested the lead and it was about 24 volts ac. I put the continuity tester leads on and got nothing on both old and new motor. My understanding is that it should beep for continuity. New motor also bad maybe?

A continuity tester is meant to check for continuity on a wire. You may have needed a multimeter.

My whirlpool microwave has the 120v motor, I purchaseed this 21 V motor,, it started turning again. but after 30 seconds of turning it fully stopped again.. do you happeend to know the reason?
@stephenofalltrades142210 ай бұрын
If the original motor is a 120V motor, that means that 120 Volts is going to that motor for operation. If you put a motor that is rated for only 21 volt operation, it is not surprising that it blew the motor. You need a motor that is designed for 120 volts.

My spindle that turns the table has gotten loose. How to tighten it

Ha that may be my problem. Mine free spins.

square root of 2 = 1.4 Not sure why people don't just simplify. This is not a rocket ship. and..... RMS voltage is also known as effective voltage. Keep it simple unless you are building something that needs precise numbers. This is a YT video for a Microwave motor.

Don't buy any Samsung appliances!! They're junk junk junk!!!!! All of them. The only thing that wasn't a pile of shit was the oven and it was barely ok.
