Sauron in this first half of the second age was an absolute Badass ! he was walking running fighting outside mordor. there is a passage in the silmarillion that says : " and in those days many elves were killed by Sauron and his servants" the guy was agressive like a Sith Lord. killing people like Anakin killing the separatists. you add this to the fact that in the war of last alliance took Gil Galad with his invincible spear and Elendil 2m tall numenorian gentleman with his magical sword to get a chance of taking him down. oh and before falling Sauron kills them both by the way. add that to his adressed long and tough fight with freaking Huan in the first age. this guy is way stronger than people give him credit for. best villain in literature.

Couldn't agree more. I am pretty certain it will end up like Game of Thrones though, because they want to make money. After spending that much money on the rights alone, there's no doubt that there will be some lore breakage. I just hope they don't break too much of Tolkien's world.
@eliashaller42554 жыл бұрын
It's my believe that they'll have at least somewhat to adhere to the story given by Tolkien - including the end. With Rome they did have a quite acceptable and conclusive ending (it was planned as a 5 series show, but was cut short to 2 series due to the start of Game of Thrones) there they also had the main story line given... by history as an original story-line. I think and sincerely hope, that will be the case here just the same!

High quality video, really exciting to watch! Have always wanted to know more about the war of the Elves and Sauron, and if there were more rings in the universe than just the one we see in the lord of rings movies. But I cannot remember, do you see Gandalf, Galdriel and Elrond holding the elven rings in the lord of the rings movies? And thus, can you see them using their rings powers?
@LoreOfTheRingsYT5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback my friend! I will thus answer your question. The Three Elven Rings is used in the movies. Gandalf is seen with Narya. This ring has the effect to inspire others against tyranny, which we basically see Gandalf use in all situations (aiding Rohan and Gondor, very spesifically). We see Elrond use Vilya to preserve Rivendells beauty. And we definitely see Galadriel take usage of her ring Nenya. This ring also take care of Lothlórien, and basically preserves the beauty of the Mallorn trees which I think the movies does not serve justice. Lothlórien was the most beautiful place in Middle-Earth, and without the ring, Lothlórien would fade, as it did after the One Ring was destroyed.

How did the elves and dwarves develop bad blood between them from these events?
@LoreOfTheRingsYT5 жыл бұрын
The bad events come from a time long gone. Google sack of Doriath. I will not tell the whole story here as it is quite big. Summed up, the Dwarves had two different tribes one from Belegost and one from Nogrod. The Nogrod dwarves did misdeeds and caused trouble. The sindar elves (Thranduils people) remembered these dwarves' deeds. That means Thranduils people had bad relations with the Nogrod dwarves. However, Thorins company is of the line of Durin which is other dwarves. Basically early conflicts kind of ruined the relationship. The Noldor elves were at very good terms with the Dwarves because of their history.
@lithpylarry20195 жыл бұрын
Lore of Middle-Earth ahh ok. I was aware that the elves of Mirkwood and northern dwarves had bad relations and how the opposite is applied with the Noldor and dwarves of Khazad-dum. I always found it confusing however that relations changed between the noldorin and durin after Sauron’s invasion of Eriador. I remember hearing a story of a band of dwarves killing an elven king after a deal or something and the elves retaliating. However I don’t remember which elves and dwarves this confrontation happened between. EDIT: Thank you for information on some sources to research :).

I will try to compare Hitler with Sauron.. and correct me in comparing, if im wrong.. i know Tolkien wanted to always seperate himself from simularities with real life and wanted/told his stories were to be taken unique and with no allegories but obviously we know he was inspired by many aspect of greek and roman history and mythology and nordic history and mythology etc, so definitely he was inspired/affected by his living experiemces.. So back to Hitler, i find that as Sauron in war of wrath was servant of morgoth, hitler fought as soldier of Germans in ww1.. Later as Sauron was captured by numenorians and seduced them with his voice and tellings and also helped the elves to forge the rings.. Simularly Hitler in pubs seduced the new-entried faction people of Nazis with his voice-tellings and passion.. He did many politically skirmishes at that time and was at the front of the coflicts almost invaded the parliament and was captured and jailed.. in the jail he "forged" his book "mein kampf".. They thought by jailing him they would avoid him but he came back even more powerful.. simular to when numenorians captured him but he came back stronger when he seduce them..and when they didnt give much attention to the necromancer of dol-kundur..and at the time of the lord of the rings book its like ww2.. A powerful Hitler he fought in wars(ww1) and in the streets with his faction, now stands only with his voice, and his dominions do his say and noone disputes his leadership.. He, as sauron stand all the time in his tower of barad-ur, stands most of the time of WW2 in bavaria near the alpes in "wolves lair" on 3000 ft overseeing everyone and everything thats going on and always planning of war and imperialism over the middle earth of europe..
@aristidispas4 жыл бұрын
i would like a comment on that from you lore of middle-earth cause i account you have really good knowledge and view from tolkien cosmos... i know when you look for simularities you will always find some.. i would add that as in lord of the rings they find themselves between the two towers-powerhouses, mordor and isengard.. if we take it microscopic only for europe the were the nazis and the fascists from italy and italy as isegard fell first.. if we take it macroscopic for the whole planet earth the two big powers and major enemies were german-nazis and japan which also has a volcano mount Fuji, and they dropped the ring of destruction there(in japan) by droping the atomic bombs, thus ending the world war... ww2 was fought by the alliance of the "free people" in two fronts either way.. i find hitler more alike saruman with his voice and passion that overtook its people like almost putting magic upon them and as hitler had a suicide mission on him which failed, simularly saruman had one of his own people killing him in the end and betray him.. and japan had a king and commanders that their people blindly followed their commands to even go in suicide missions with their aircrafts on american ships and aircraft carriers, which is one of most feared things see the enemy, that will give their lives willingly or unwillingly for their Masters.. Corsaics from the south are italy, mediterenean dominion, africa and fights that were given there(in the south)... and lastly but not least.. The Easterlings and the people from the east are like Turkey, long gone Ottoman Empire from WW1 which is something between seek its lost old glory but at the same time be a secondary wheel in this war, cause if the big players fall they will fall too easilly.. So there you have it.. hope you are interested in this version, that its not what the lord of the rings is to take step by step.. but i cant believe a man living in this times couldnt get the least affected and inspired.. Damn as i write more things come up.. i cant exclude that Hitler-Germany as Saruman-Isengard, had a mind of wheels, a thing that Tolkien mostly hated for the new world era.. cause Htiler's Gemany was really advanced in technology and craftmanship, in tanks, aircraft, airship etc. and such was mostly their advantage and not in manpower... and every tegnologic invention was used for distraction and dominion.. not a strange thing that most of Germans scientists were later took and assigned by the Americans for their knowledge.. i have to stop cause its like an essay now.. sorry for my english if they are hard to read and follow.. Im only debating here, nothing more, its not my strict point of view about tolkiens Lotr and WW2.. And i never said that the ring was the atomic bomb which Tolkien said NO, but thats the way a fantasy and a real war ended
@aristidispas4 жыл бұрын
Isnt it nice that i contradict my self between the 2 comments? I sound like Gollum, but i told you im debating.. The point is the inspiration, which are cross-exist then to create his world.. One character maybe exists in several characters and aspects in Middle earth and if you shuffle things up you find a story.. Game of thrones is full of history.. i mean omg, full of it.. you put knew names and factions, you put a mythology, you put magic and some magical entities and you got your Cosmos.. But tolkien wasnt your average guy.. this guy and his genealogies and his creation of languages, omg he was one of a kind! Since i wrote that much, i wanted to write just one paragraph in the beginning, i will upload it also on reddit

Surely such comparisons can be drawn, and as you already mentioned, Tolkien disliked such allegories. However, that doesn't mean they aren't true, he would be incluenced sub-consiously probably!
