Report were sent to spain to complain on his behaviour, meaning it was abberent to the already morally questionable behavior of the colonist. Cortès success can be mostly attibuted to his luck, determination, and willingness to cooperate with the locals. He would have failed utterfly without Dona Marina.

The basic structure of European music hasn't changed for centuries, it's only the the instruments it's played and the projection (volume) that has changed.

Some things don't change but others do. In medieval Europe, it was outrageous to play tritones (musical intervals composed of three adjacent whole tones). The dissonant sounds it produced were deemed "dangerous" and the tritone was called the "diabolus in musica".

In addition, one of the reasons the lute was abandoned over time in the favor of the guitar or the violin is because due to it's solid construction, it had a rather small volume of a sound.
