This hits home. My grandfather but a c10 brand new in 1984. I grew up in that truck, it was the first thing I ever got to drive. He let me drive around in his field and on short trips to the gravel pit (I was about 10 lol). In about 2011, right before I was getting my license, he sold it. In 2015, after he passed, I found it. The guy knew it was my grandfather's truck and what it meant to me, so he sold it to me for what he paid. I've put about 45,000 km on it since then. All this to say, thank you for being that guy for someone Marty, it will mean more to that kid than you or him even realize it right now. It's a different kind of connection to a car altogether when it's a car you grew up with.

This car and it's build series heavily influenced me and it feels bittersweet to see this. I was always into Subarus before but watching the original Gramps build basically as a kid, my interest shifted toward the Legacy/Liberty. Seeing the shift to a BP wagon with Supergramps showed me my dream car. It was so beautiful to me, perfect looks while still being super practical. A dream car, to me really became one I could do anything with. Fast forward some years to my first and second car, fresh license in hand I still held onto my dream, knowing how great Supergramps became. In May of 2021 I achieved it... I bought my very own BP Legacy with barely enough money in hand. Bought if sight unseen and far away but the seller was a specialist and made sure everything was in order and I knew fully what I was getting. They even did another full checkover, replacing some more parts completely for free. The car was PERFECT... I was so happy, doing the obligatory looking back at the car all the time "damn I love this thing". Sadly the journey ended only 3 months later with a blown engine... Got the full Subaru experience served right there. I don't know to this day what caused the damage so I can only assume improper bearing wear. I was soo heart broken... Since I was already in a fragile mental state at the time, it completely ruined me and I've been in a loop since. I had absolutely no money or time to fix it and ended up having to buy a cheap replacement, selling the shell for scrap. A lot has changed in my life since then but I am still determined to one day own another one. Now this all sounds really bad, I know. Just know I have ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS. Seeing Supergramps "go" almost makes me tear up and I can't help but feel a little envious of the future new driver ;)

It was the introduction of SuperGramps in the early days that helped me see the potential of a wagon my X-wife got her hands on. A 2004 VW Passat GL Wagon with 5-Speed manual 1.8T 20valve engine. 1.8T's known to be bulletproof as long as you don't push them without the proper mods to support it has been a solid vehicle as my project car over the last 3-4 years since I got it from my x-father-n-law. But thanks to SuperGramps and me being on the other side of the pond in the States, I have named my ride "The Granny Sleeper." This year I had taken it to my 2nd Volkswagen show (VolksFest) in Milwaukee, WI, and thanks to other voters I placed 3rd. It's a great experience and I still have loads more plans down the road for it. Good luck, SuperGramps, 2 weeks after I got my license I totaled my vehicle. Hehe, right of passage.

Years ago I bought a gen 4 liberty wagon with a flat six and needed a new tailgate for it. I went in to onboost auto wreckers in Milperra and bought one from the car that supergramps' interior came from. I missed Marty and Moog by a day and I scored a turbo bonnet for it for a lot cheaper than what they go for nowadays. Supergramps has always been the car that I measure mine against and I'm glad to see it still in the wider MCM family. The Skid Factory is one of the channels I love and Supergramps is a big part of the reason that channel exists today. Marty is the epitome of the Aussie legend and in selling this car to Al for 5 grand he proves it once again.

This is super cool. Wagons and Vans are also some of the best, most fun vehicles to have when you're still in school. I drove cheap beater boats like my old 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis and 1990 Ford Crown Victoria, but I definitely had the most fun in my beat up 1992 Dodge Caravan that could uncomfortable seat nearly all of my friends as we went out to the movies, sporting events and whatnot. The added bonus of reliable power and AWD makes Supergramps an AWESOME candidate for a fun and utilitarian new driver vehicle. Congrats, Little Man!!

This was the car which got me back into subarus and mainly libraries( legacy where I’m from). Although this might sound stupid but not watching the guys and this car I’d probably wouldn’t of done the mad things I’ve done over the years. So thank you mcm and friends and a massive thank you to supergramps for relighting my passion for subarus

Absolutely unbelievable,. When I watched super gramps being built, I dreamed of car of my own that was truly mine and i owned it. 8 years later I own a mk8 golf r and now super gramps has returned to its original family, and now Marty is building another subaru wagon. What a world we live in. Thanks Marty, Moog, Turbo Yoda, and others

Crazy how long it's been. I remember watching the Super Gramps build as it came out. I actually had bought myself a 2011 Subaru Liberty 3.6R here in the states back when Super gramps started. Auto unfortunately but I learned all the maintenance myself. Did vinyl wrapping of bits, suspension building, sway bars, exhaust, custom grill, aftermarket wheels, tuned on 93 octane. Unfortunately had to part ways with it after 5 years. Drove it nearly 100k miles. I bought a 2019 STi which I had for about a year. Sometimes wish I still kept it but later traded it for a 2018 Audi A4. I needed something more practical for a daily. (I was tired of spending so much on fuel and having to rev the thing out everywhere) and didn't exactly have the money to start putting mods into it. I'm still happy with my choice but I do miss tinkering with car mods. Maybe one day get myself something to play around with again.

SuperGramps makes me feel slightly old. What a car, what a journey. I almost wish it was in the "OG Shell" though. The levorg will be such a great build I'm sure and it will be interesting to see a SuperGramps like project (hypergramps?) In a shell that looks fast

@@Kacpa2 that's what I'm saying, I'm interested to see the evolution of the "gramps" series with the levorg, gonna be the same engine but built and I'm assuming they'll keep to the premise of evolving technology like they did with SuperGramps.

@@curtisss EZ30 is a bit different to EZ36 in supergramps and has much more aftermarket support and potential, can rev higher and sound like RB26 and, so they can go to town with it far more i think. 600ccs dont realy matter when subaru tuned it for fuel economy compared to more performancey setup stock for ez30. Funnily enough its also exact engine thatvshould be in supergramps because thats what 4th gen legacy/liberty had. EZ36 was in 5th gen, outback and tribeca facelift.

@@Kacpa2 I am pretty sure the ez36 in SuperGramps came out of a Tribeca (that's a hazy memory from early episodes though)
