As an Aussie, I've been genuinely touched by the plethora of wonderful and sincere tributes from people in England - Gat in this one is fabulous and gracious - I've also seen a heartfelt tribute from Michael Vaughan today where he broke down in tears. To me, Warnie captured the hearts of England like Bradman did - despite breaking their hearts on the cricket field. It's why I always have and always will feel an affinity with England and the English. RIP Warnie.

I teared up. Always loved Shane. He lived here in Brighton half the year. Obviously captained Hampshire. Just a legend. Shane Warne. An absolute Assassin on the pitch. But the kindest sweetest guy off it. He tried to help cricketers from the Captain of England, Australia or India to the lowliest club cricketer he met in an airport. Always happy with those big green eyes glinting at the camera, and his huge Hollywood white smile. What a ripper. They broke the mold when they made him. There really was, only one Shane Warne.

It's sad when someone dies but the dribble that everyone is spewing about this guy is pathetic when you consider there are people around the world working tirelessly to help mankind and they rarely get mentioned. How is Warne's life any more important than yours or mine? It's a shame that we elevate those who do very little while ignoring those who truly benefit humankind, often for meagre monetary rewards and under oppressive conditions. I was shocked to hear he had passed away as he was so young and his family and friends must be devastated. I do feel for them as losing someone you love is hard.
